PUBLIC SCHOOL 'PURGES' CHRISTIAN AUTHORS FROM LIBRARY

'Book banning is just one step away from book burning'

A charter school in Southern California is facing the threat of a lawsuit for “purging” Christian books from its library.

Parents contacted the Pacific Justice Institute after Springs Charter School system Supt. Kathleen Hermsmeyer declared the library would not be allowed to carry “sectarian” materials.

Pacific Justice President Brad Dacus told WND that among the books was “The Hiding Place,” the story of Corrie ten Boom, a Dutch woman sent to a prison camp by the Nazis of World War II for helping Jews escape.

Dacus said PJI’s legal team and the district have exchanged letters already.

“I think she doesn’t understand the law,” he said of Hermsmeyer.

Dacus cited her statement that the school officials “do not allow sectarian materials on our state authorized lending shelves.”

“That’s a problem,” he said. “She apparently doesn’t understand that public libraries do not have the obligation to sterilize religious books from their shelves.”

Strictly religious books, such as the Bible or the Quran, routinely are on library shelves, he argued.

Dacus said an immediate correction of the school’s policy would prevent a lawsuit.

“It is alarming that a school library would attempt to purge books from religious authors,” he said. “Indeed, some of the greatest literature of Western Civilization comes from people of faith. Are they going to ban the sermons or speeches of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.? What about the Declaration of Independence that invokes the laws of nature and nature’s God.”

Hermsmeyer did not respond to a message left by WND asking for a comment.

Fox News commentator Todd Starnes said it’s “hard to imagine that any school would have a problem with a book about a Christian family that helped Jews escape the Holocaust.”

Starnes said the parents who protested called it “Christian purging.”

A PJI letter to the public school said a parent “was told by one of the library attendants that the library has been instructed to remove all books with a Christian message, authored by Christians, or published by a Christian publishing company.”

“The attendant advised that the library would no longer be carrying those books. Indeed, our client was told that the library was giving those books away, and she actually took some.”

PJI attorney Michael Peffer had sent the school a cease-and-desist letter, citing long-established Supreme Court precedent that strongly disapproves of school libraries removing books based on opposition to their content or message.

Then Hermsmeyer responded by declaring that as a public school, “we are barred by law from purchasing sectarian curriculum materials with state funds.”

“We only keep on our shelves the books that we are authorized to purchase with public funds.”

In the same letter, she wrote: “At no time, however, have we discriminated against Christian authors or publishing companies who create secular educational material.”

Starnes concluded: “I oppose all book banning. If a book offends you, don’t read it. The way I see it – book banning is just one step away from book burning. And I don’t mean to pour gasoline on the fire, but we all know what regime did that.”

My comments; Secular Humanism is a Religion and they forbid anything that is contrary to their Religion as is Chrsit and literature that expresses Fain in Him. While in high school, I desired to play basketball. The coach summed me up with a brief scan from head to feet, promptly dismissing me for being too short. It felt bad then, but I later understood that we are given different attributes and gifts to fit the purpose God created us for. 

In Numbers chapter 7, it records that the Gershonites and Merarites who were Levites received carts and oxen to use for God’s work; the Kohathites, also Levites received nothing. The Kohathites, whose job was to care for the most holy things (Num 4:4 NIV) needed no carts or oxen; they had what they needed for their special assignment - their shoulders! Verses 5, 7 and 8, repeat the words ‘as his services require’ (NET) implying emphasis on appropriateness of the gifts. 

God gives us assignments and equips us appropriately. Ways we can know our assignment and what we are equipped for include our calling, passion with ability to do certain things, personality, and spiritual gifts. He provides material resources through blessing our work to generate income, favor, and gifts.

If we often get frustrated or envious of others because we lack something or are trying too hard to fit in to certain situations or jobs, chances are we are unaware of God’s assignment for our lives. Let us ask the Lord to help us understand the work He created and equipped us for so we may honor Him and thrive while doing it.

IMMIGRANT HOUSING: COMING TO YOUR TOWN?

Living conditions for families and individuals apprehended while crossing the Mexico-Texas border are about to become 4-star worthy. Breitbart Texas is reporting that a massive, new immigrant housing center will be opened in November to house as many as 2,400 illegals.
When this facility is opened, it will become the fourth in Texas.
 

According to an ICE statement, “These facilities will help ensure more timely and effective removals that comply with our legal and international obligations, while deterring others from taking the dangerous journey and illegally crossing into the United States."
While waiting to be processed (which could take weeks), illegals will be provided with taxpayer-funded medical care, playrooms, social workers, educations services, and access to legal counsel. That's because according to the Health and Human Services website, the federal government is required to "feed, shelter, and provide medical care for unaccompanied children until it is able to release them to safe settings with sponsors."

Nevermind that this particular center, located in South Texas, is being built specifically to house adults who are traveling with children. Nevermind that those processed rarely show up for their court appointed hearings appointments, and are soon forgotten as the next wave of illegals arrives to be processed ...

OBAMA'S NARCISSISM A THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY

David Limbaugh: 'No president has ever been so committed to eschewing accountability'

We mention President Obama’s narcissism not as an exercise in name-calling but because it continues to be relevant to how he conducts himself in office, and it’s not pretty.

This undeniable character trait was on full display in his interview with Steve Kroft of “60 Minutes,” in the sense that he simply cannot entertain the possibility, much less – infinitely less – admit the possibility that he has made a mistake or exercised poor judgment.

If anything remotely positive happens on his watch, he presumes to take full credit for it – way more than the normal opportunistic politician. With the killing of Osama bin Laden, for example, Obama boasts as if the raid were his initial idea and he delivered the kill shot. Most people in his position would play down their role in such an event and give credit to our special forces personnel who made it happen.

But when things are going poorly, Obama either candy-coats the reality or pretends he’s an outsider powerless to do anything but complain about it. No president has ever been so committed to eschewing accountability.

News outlets are reporting that Obama acknowledged that his administration was surprised by the strength of the Islamic State, sort of. He lays the blame for any such underestimates at the feet of Jim Clapper, his director of intelligence. Isn’t Clapper in the administration? It’s as if Obama is every bit as mystified by Clapper’s alleged oversight as the rest of us and as if he has no culpability for it whatsoever.

But it’s even worse than that. For the truth is that this wasn’t some kind of mistake in intelligence. Our intelligence services were fully aware of the strength and danger the Islamic State posed months and months ago and were aware of its aggressive pursuit of territorial expansion. It’s not that we underestimated the Islamic State; it’s that we overtly ignored it or that Obama was literally out to lunch – or on the golf course.

Journalist Eli Lake reported that one former senior Pentagon official was flabbergasted in watching Obama’s “60 Minutes” performance. “Either the president doesn’t read the intelligence he’s getting or he’s bulls––ing,” said the official.

Liberals were relentless in accusing President George W. Bush of lying about Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction leading up to our attack on Iraq, even though he was reasonably relying on the best intelligence estimates from our own intelligence services and those of most other nations. He believed that Saddam Hussein had these weapons based on intelligence and on Saddam’s behavior. Bush acted on that intelligence, for which he has been called a liar by egregious liars.

Obama, by contrast, had actionable intelligence and didn’t act and is now acting as though he was personally unaware of it. Well, if his director of intelligence had that information, is it even conceivable he wouldn’t have passed it on to Obama? Only if he knew Obama wouldn’t care or wouldn’t act on it in any event.

So if Clapper knew of the nature and extent of the Islamic State threat and didn’t pass it on to Obama because he knew he wouldn’t act on it, that’s Obama’s fault. If he knew and didn’t pass it on for some other reason, that’s Obama’s fault for having such a knucklehead in such a critically important position affecting our national security. If Obama now knows that Clapper knew and didn’t pass this information on to him, he should either resign himself (for creating the impression that he didn’t want to know about such matters) or fire Clapper for not telling him. You feel me? It’s Obama’s fault any way you look at it.

I suspect that Clapper either didn’t report to Obama because he knew Obama didn’t want to hear it or did report to him but he didn’t read it or he read it but refused to even consider acting on it because to do so would have contradicted his firmly held position that we had to remove ourselves entirely from Iraq. Obama is continuing in this stubbornly irresponsible posture today, even if he has reluctantly allowed airstrikes, because he has announced that he will not even consider ground forces in that area – no matter how dramatically the Islamic State threatens our national security and that of our allies.

Obama’s narcissism is a clear and present danger to the security interests of the United States for a host of reasons. He refuses to accept accountability for his decisions or failed policies and thus won’t change course when reality proves him wrong. He won’t realistically assess threats when they contradict his worldview-driven perceptions. And he won’t take action if by doing so he would be tacitly admitting he was wrong before.

I suspect that even Democratic Party leaders and those in his administration who have the sense to grasp the reality of the threat to world stability posed by radical Islamists are shaking their heads in private over the bizarre, surreal character who leads their party but refuses to lead the United States of America.

My comments: Obama is as narcissistic as the one who rules him, Satan. He heads the godless, anti-Christ, Democrat Party. Yes, Obama and the Democrats are a DISASTER waiting to happen on the National Security Level. Imagine a president who did the following:

• used the Internal Revenue Service as his own personal attack machine to target his political enemies;
• dropped bombs on foreign countries to deflect attention from his own personal scandals at home;
• demonized his political adversaries while playing the victim role;
• used executive orders to go over the heads of Congress and boasted about it.

Sound familiar?

I’m not talking about Barack Obama here.

Bill Clinton did all of those things and more and got away with it because Senate Republicans refused to convict him after impeachment charges were approved in the House of Representatives.

Today, Clinton is remembered fondly by more than half the American public because he was not held accountable for his crimes. His wife, who was regarded as his “co-president” by some, is the leading candidate for the Democratic Party’s nomination in 2016.

That’s why it’s still important to hold Barack Obama accountable for high crimes, misdemeanors and felonies before the clock runs out on his time in office.

And the clock is ticking.

Will Republican leadership make the same mistake Senate Republicans made in 1999 by letting Clinton skate on impeachment charges?

House Speaker John Boehner says, “I’m Obama’s best friend.” That is not an understatement.

Republican leadership appears to be running out the clock rather than playing to win. Not only does Barack Obama continue to do potentially irreparably damage to the country every day, but he is lowering the bar on the standards for future presidents – presidents who will be needed to turn the country around after Obama leaves office.

It’s tempting to bask in the knowledge that there is a light at the end of the dark tunnel of the Obama era.

With that in mind, I created the Obama clock to count down the days, the hours, the minutes and he seconds until real hope and change is possible.

It reminds me of an old joke I will update for the occasion.

A guys dies and goes to heaven. Let’s call him Fred. Peter meets Fred at the Pearly Gates for a tour of the digs.

Right off the bat, they come to a mansion with clocks on the wall. Some of them don’t seem to be moving at all, while others are spinning at a pretty good clip. Obviously, these are not ordinary clocks.

Fred asks Peter about the wall of clocks.

“Oh, those are our lie clocks,” explains Peter. “Whenever someone on earth tells a lie, their clock moves one degree.”

Peter points out Mother Teresa’s clock.

“Her clock never moved during most of her life on earth,” said Peter. “And there’s Billy Graham’s clock. It hardly ever moves a tick.”

Fred spotted one clock whose hands never stopped moving.

“Oh, said Peter, “that’s Bill Clinton’s clock.”

That gave Fred an idea.

“Where’s Obama’s clock?” he asked.

Peter said, “That’s in Jesus’ office. He’s using it as a ceiling fan.”

There’s one clock I’d like to see move faster. It’s not Obama’s lie clock. It’s this one that is moving inexorably forward toward the day when the political audits end, we have a shot at getting the truth about Benghazi, getting our veterans the medical care they deserve and ending the scourge of Obamacare once and for all.

Tick, tick, tick.

But should we just sit back, watch the clock and smile?

Should we joke about how much more golfing and vacationing he’ll be doing effective January 2017?

Should we just be satisfied that he leaves office then peacefully, turning it over to a successor in the tradition of his predecessors?

It’s not that far off. But while I’m looking forward to that day, the opportunity for justice is fleeting indeed. It’s not enough for Obama to leave office. He needs to be held accountable for his misuse of the office and his abuse of power.

WHAT THE ARAB WORLD PRODUCES

Dennis Prager identifies world 'contributions' of Mideast, North African culture

At least since the early part of the 20th century, aside from oil, the Arab world has produced and exported two products.

It has produced essentially no technology, medicine or anything else in the world of science. It has almost no contributions to world literature, art or to intellectual development.

According to the most recent United Nations Arab Human Development Reports (2003-2005), written by Arab intellectuals, Greece, with a population of 11 million, annually translates five times more books from English than the entire Arab world, population 370 million. Nor is this a new development. The total number of books translated into Arabic during the last 1,000 years is less than Spain translates into Spanish in one year.

ArabianBusiness.com reports that about 100 million people in the Arab world are illiterate; and three quarters of them are between the ages of 15 and 45.

As for Arab women, the situation is even worse. Nearly half of the Arab world’s women are illiterate, and sexual attacks on women have actually increased since the Arab Spring, as have forced marriages and trafficking. And the exact number of women murdered by family members in “honor killings” is not knowable. It is only known to be large.

In Egypt, the largest Arab country, 91 percent of women and girls are subjected to female genital mutilation, according to UNICEF. Not to mention the number of women in the Arab world who must wear veils or even full-face and full-body coverings known as burkas. And, of course, Saudi Arabia is infamous for not allowing women to drive a car.

Another unhappy feature of the Arab world is the prevalence of lies. To this day, Egypt denies that it was the Egyptian pilot, Ahmed El-Habashi, who allegedly crashed an EgyptAir jet into the ocean deliberately. Vast numbers of Arabs believe that Jews knew of the 9/11 plot and avoided going to work at the World Trade Center that day.

So, then, is there anything at which the Arab world has excelled for the past two generations? Has there been a major Arab export?

As it happens, there are two.

Hatred and violence.

The Arab world has no peer when it comes to hatred – of the Western world generally, and especially of Israel. Israel-hatred and its twin, Jew-hatred, are the oxygen that the Arab world breathes.

Two of the most popular songs in Egypt over the past decade have been “I Hate Israel” and the ironically named “I Love Israel.”

Lyrics of the latter song include:

“May it [Israel] be destroyed. May it be wiped off the map. May a wall fall on it. May it disappear from the universe. God, please have it banished.”

“May it dangle from the noose. May I get to see it burning, Amen. I will pour gasoline on it. I am an Egyptian man. I am not a coward.”

“I Hate Israel” is so popular that it was the song which Egypt’s pop star Chaaboula sang at the largest music festival in the Arab world, Morocco’s Mawazine. The festival, one of the biggest in the world, featured Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Ricky Martin and Kool and the Gang.

Some of the lyrics:

“I hate Israel, and I would say so if I was asked to.

“Two faces of the same coin, America and Israel. They made the world a jungle and ignited the fuse.

“About that [Twin] Tower, oh people. Definitely! His friends [Israel] were the ones who brought it down.”

The other major Arab product and export has been violence.

It is difficult to overstate the amount of violence in the Arab world. Mass murder and cruelty have characterized it.

Regarding Iraq under Saddam Hussein, Dexter Filkins, the New York Times correspondent in Iraq from 2003-2006, wrote: “Here, in Hussein, was one of the world’s indisputably evil men: he murdered as many as a million of his people, many with poison gas. He tortured, maimed and imprisoned countless more. His unprovoked invasion of Iran is estimated to have left another million people dead.”

Syria, too, has been a country of mass murder, torture and brutal totalitarian rule – under the rule of Hafez Assad (in power 1971-2000), and his son, Bashar, the current killer-dictator who, among other atrocities, used Sarin gas against his own people in 2013.

In the ongoing Syrian Civil War, according to the United Nations, between March 15, 2011, and April 30, 2014, 191,000 Syrians, about a third of them civilians, were killed. In addition, 2.5 million people have fled Syria to neighboring countries, and 6.5 million have fled their homes within Syria.

In Algeria in the 1990s, Islamist terrorists engaged in wholesale murder of their fellow Algerians. That war cost Algeria about 100,000 lives, mostly civilian.

In Sudan, the Arab government’s atrocities against the non-Arab population in the region of Darfur led to about 300,000 deaths and over a million refugees. In addition there was systematic rape of untold numbers of non-Arab women by Arab gangs known as the Janjaweed.

And then there was the terror unleashed by Palestinians against Israeli civilians in restaurants, at weddings, on buses, etc. The Palestinians are the modern fathers of terrorism directed solely at civilians.

There are two possible reactions to this description of the Arab world. One is that it is an example of anti-Arab “racism.” That would be the reaction in much of the Arab world, on the left and among most academics – despite the fact that the description is of a culture and that the Arabs are not a race. The other is that it is tragically accurate. That would be the reaction of some in the Arab world and anyone who cares about truth. One such individual is an Arab. In Politico Magazine two weeks ago. Hisham Melhem, Washington bureau chief of Al-Arabiya, the Dubai-based satellite channel, titled his article “The Barbarians Within Our Gates.” The subtitle is “Arab civilization has collapsed. It won’t recover in my lifetime.”

Islamic State, which is overwhelmingly Arab, is just the latest manifestation.

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS DENIES TRUTH OF ISLAM

We live in a day and time when the truth is not tolerated. Half-truths and situational explanations are accepted, but they are by definition lies. They are embraced and expounded, however, as if they were revelations given by secular metaphysicians of unparalleled understanding. And there is no greater example of same than “political correctness.”

Political correctness, as I wrote many years ago, is at its core an unmitigated lie, and the people who engage in it are either liars, fools, or both. And there is no better example of both than the politically correct who are trying to convince us that it’s not Islam that is bad, it’s just a few bad Mohammedans within Islam who are bad. You know, the old “rotten apple” syndrome.

Islam is not a pastoral religion that practices peace, love and happiness. It is a cult-like grouping that preaches hate, strife, intolerance and conquest. It preaches that it is OK to deceive and lie to those who are infidels and dogs, i.e., anyone who is not a Muslim. It preaches the strictest form of legalism and demands the most pagan forms of punishments for even perceived violations of their religious dogma.

Yet despite mountains of readily available evidence that is beyond refutation, the politically correct deny the obvious and choose instead to attack those such as myself who are warning America that Islam is a threat and its adherents are a threat to us.

From its beginning, history is is replete with testimony to the dirge that is Islam. But revisionists and the politically correct refuse to present the accurate depiction of Islam. Instead, they counter the truth with references such as “all religions have a history of violence,” or they say idiotic things such as “Christians are just as bad.” They curse and call persons such as myself names that aren’t found in the lexicons of the most debased because we are willing to say the truth.

Alton Nolen wasn’t preaching extremism, violence and beheadings until he changed his name to Jah’Keem Yisrael and converted to Islam. Americans who ultimately become Muslims aren’t going about preaching religious hatred and death in the name of Allah until they convert to Islam. Muslims, however, are inculcated with legalistic hatred and contempt as a culture. But the media and those steeped in political correctness refuse even to acknowledge that Yisrael in fact committed the beheadings. They choose instead to use his birth name of Nolen, juxtaposed to his Muslim name Yisrael, and reference him as the person “accused of beheading of a woman.”

I understand language and the proper utilization of same far better than most people, my peers included. I reject the idea of his being referred to as the “accused,” which inherently carries with it the presumption of innocence. There is no presumption of his innocence. He beheaded a woman and was in the process of beheading another woman when he was shot.

The politically correct refused even to call it an act of terrorism, choosing instead to call the violent, religiously motivated beheadings an instance of “workplace violence,” thus attempting to reduce it to the level of an act perpetrated by a disgruntled employee who kills his boss. The difference is that an act of workplace violence is born out of anger; Yisrael’s actions were born out of his allegiance to Islam and Allah.

No religious group is any more cloistered than the Amish, but in the rare instances when one of their adherents reject their religious tenets and marry a Catholic or Pentecostal, that person is shunned and disavowed from membership on every quantifiable level – but he isn’t hunted down and murdered. Such is not the case within Islam. Mennonites and Baptists are not preaching hatred and teaching that it is permissible to deceive, cheat and kill those not practicing their faith and/or converting to other faiths. However, the same cannot be said about Islam.

I warned in 2001 that beheadings were going to become commonplace on our soil. The same politically correct people who are attacking me today (along with their present-day minions) called me vulgar names, some going so far as to threaten me with physical harm. But I’ve been vindicated.

In 2002 John Lee Malvo and John Allen Muhammad became known as the “Beltway Snipers,” and ultimately held Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., hostage with fear as they took turns hiding in the trunk of their Oldsmobile, randomly shooting and killing people. In all, they murdered 16 people and wounded nine.

The politically correct are deranged to the point of even savaging Brigitte Gabriel and others who have left Islam and who are warning America of the danger Islam presents.

People forgot and/or chose to justify the anger and antipathy Muhammad Ali preached and fomented against whites when he declared himself a minister of Allah and refused to be inducted into military service. I do not support the government in attempting to deprive him of his right to make a living during his court case, but I unapologetically condemn the malcontent and animus he preached in the name of Allah.

Perhaps it is instinct for some to believe it is right to extend hands of friendship to those who would harm us, but it isn’t prudent and sure as heck isn’t keeping our families and country safe.
