Virginia, what can Oregon learn?
Please take our poll!
What happened in Virginia? Conservative/pro-life/Republicans won in a sweep of the state wide races! Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin is said to start every day by praying with his campaign staff. Lieutenant Governor and the first black candidate to win a state-wide race, Winsome Sears, focuses on her faith in this article. In addition, Virginia's state legislature turned from ultra-liberal/progressive/Democrats (Blue) to pro-life/conservative/Republican (red). So what happened? How did Virginia turn red and what lessons can we learn here in Oregon to help us make similar changes in leadership?
Perhaps the ultra-liberal/socialist/progressive/Democrats made their aims too clear when the Virginia Gubernatorial Candidate Mcauliffe said the following during a debate out loud, what many have always suspected the liberal/progressive/elites have always felt, that parents shouldn’t have a say in what their kids are taught in public schools.
In that debate, the candidates were asked whether protections for transgender students should be determined at the state or local level. Candidate McAuliffe responded to an incident where a parent complained that two books available to high school students contained graphic sexual content and pedophilia. The school district removed the books and is currently reviewing them.
The candidate made this statement regarding the event, “I’m not gonna let parents come in to schools and actually take books off and make their own decisions,” and he continued “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” You can listen for yourself here.
It would appear that many have been okay to have their income, wealth and citizenship stolen via higher taxes, inflation and illegal immigration, but that stops when you get to my kids! As the liberal/progressive/elitist/Democrats have proclaimed that their new desire is take all your money and your kids, many are reacting against that and standing up to vote!
So what can we do? Immediately, we have a filing DATE FOR RUNNING FOR OFFICE. That date is March 8th, 2022. If you are interested email jeffk@oregonfaithandfreedom.org!
Second, join the ONRI event this Thursday at the Capitol!
Third, build an organization. We have seen in a recent election how there really isn't an effective all purpose, all issue organization that can bring the change we need. We need something new and not just a single issue organization. That's what Oregon Faith and Freedom can be. Connecting with a national group Faith and Freedom Coalition (ffcoalition.com) that has already had great national impact, is a good step. The first step in that process is building a list. That is what we have been doing. Reaching out to an ever wider circle of potential people who can work together to bring that change. We are using email outreach at the moment, so please keep reading and opening. Other steps will follow. Do you know someone who should join in? Please send them to oregonfaithandfreedom.org and have them sign up for the list!.
Will you help us fill the gap in creating the needed turn out machine we lack? Will you help us do the voter "hot" button identification that needs to be done?
