God’s Will Be Done
Tricia Draper
“Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10 ESV)
Jesus had just finished teaching the people how important it was to recognize the Holiness of God.
Then, He explained how they were to ask for the Kingdom of God to “come”.
This was a way of asking for God to come and reign on earth as He does in Heaven.
This prayer is still very relevant today.

We need to be asking for the spiritual Kingdom of God to come and reign in our lives.
Just as God holds all majesty in Heaven, we need to invite Him into our personal lives to be our Ruler as well.
The middle of this verse shows Jesus saying the words He would later say with agony, but with the same intention — “Thy will be done.”

We are to pray for God’s will to be done, too.
We can do nothing on our own to further the plans God has for us without knowing and accepting His purpose for our lives.
We can do nothing on our own to further the plans God has for us without knowing and accepting His purpose for our lives.
This is not always easy to do since our flesh still seeks its own pleasure.
We know what we want when we want it.
However, God is the only One who truly knows what is best for us.
Father, I come to You today with a heart of gratitude.
Father, I come to You today with a heart of gratitude.
I choose to lay my own desires down and ask for Your will to be done in my life.
Please meet me where I am and guide me to glorious places with You.
I pray I may honor You with all I do.
Thank You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
