Redeeming the Time
Toni M. Babcock
“Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven,” (Matthew 6:10 KJV).
Perhaps you’ve been praying these familiar words more frequently with a lot more passion these days.
I know I have! With persecution against Christianity on the rise around the world, with
“…wars and rumors of wars…” (Matthew 24:6 KJV),
with rising crime and evidence of man’s inhumanity to man increasing to genocidal proportions in places, it’s natural for us to pray for Christ’s imminent return.
Yet at the same time, it’s important not to get agitated with the wait — because it might be tempting to question why God has chosen to take so long, and begin to doubt His goodness.
I’ve decided it’s better to leave the mystery of God’s timing to God, and not waste too much time trying to justify Him to myself (which of course He doesn’t need me to do since He isn’t on trial).
One thing you and I can do to help hasten Christ’s Kingdom is to share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ
— because the more folks open their hearts to Jesus, the more of His Kingdom will be restored in this fallen world to stand against the tide of sin and inhumanity.
We help increase God’s Kingdom whenever we serve the Lord and seize the opportunity to make Jesus known
“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil,” (Ephesians 5:16 KJV).
