They say that when small men cast large shadows, you know the sun is about to set.
Similarly, because the daylight of decency is about to set, small men like Bezos, Soros, Zuckerberg, Dorsey, and Obama are also casting large shadows.
Sorry if that offends you, but they are all small men.
“Surely men of low degree are a vapor, men of high degree are a lie; if they are weighed in the balances, they are altogether lighter than vapor.” –Psalm 62:9
The only men who are smaller, are the even smaller men who work for them.
Biden and Fauci immediately leap to mind.
But it is not these pipsqueaks who are driving me crazy.
And it is not even their outsized power that vexes me.
What truly makes me angry, and sad, is that all we need to stop them are real American heroes.
In fact, there is nothing evil going on in America that could not be stopped by men and women of daring.
Seneca said,
“It is not because the times are dangerous that men do not dare, it is because men do not dare that the times are dangerous.”
Instead of Christian leaders who dare, we have a pandemic of self-pity and timidity.
American preachers used to be reformers and agents of change.
Today, we have performers who have agents.
They will take no stand that might cost them tithing members, bookings or product sales.
Never has a nation had so many ministers who are doing so much that does not matter, for so few.
Never has the arsenal of the weapons of the Kingdom of God been left to gather cobwebs for so long.
Never has fear been such a guiding force in the choices of preachers.
We never used to scare this easily.
The government would not dare lockdown the churches of the preachers we used to have.
Never have so many with such advanced degrees been so remedial in their grasp of what is urgent.
What is wrong with us?
We are crippled by the fear of greatness.
And we have confused popularity with greatness.
A large church is not greatness.
Being a mascot for the rich and famous is not greatness. Satan laughs at our idea of success.
He does not respect sermons that merely entertain a tame audience.
He only respects and fears disciples—men and women sent from God, anointed by God with conviction and authority who are ready to obey the marching orders of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible clearly reveals that we serve an awesome God.
His awesomeness has transformed weak men and women into world-changers.
America can once again have lions in the pulpits.
We can own the roar that will stem the tide of immorality.
Open your heart to the truth!
Every vessel of God is, right now, standing at a fork in the road.
On the right is the path of greatness.
On the left is a wide and convenient path.
On your right all you see is sacrifice, warfare, and intense resistance.
To your left is a downward path.
To your right is a steep and treacherous climb, leading upward.
But you know that that climb means you are going to a new level—your next level.
So then, what is the secret?
The secret to greatness is pain.
The absolute truth about you and greatness is in this phrase:
When the pain of being average becomes more intense than your fear of greatness, you will go to your next level. Greatness.
