I Look to You
Karen Pourbabaee
“…let us run by patience to the fight proposed to us: Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of faith.” Hebrews 12:1-2 DRB
I look to You, Great Author of my faith.
For as You began it long ago, You shall complete it.
What are You writing now, my Lord?
What path are You plotting for me?
What circumstances are You arranging to work together for my good?
I trust in Your divine manuscript.
Let it be done to me according to Your words.
“Your eyes foresaw my actions; in Your book all are written down; my days were shaped, before one came to be.” (Psalm 139:16 NAB)
I look to You, my Living Hope.
You anchor me in the storms of life.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in His great mercy gave us a new birth to a Living Hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Peter 1:3 NAB)
I look to You, O Prince of Peace.
Whom have I in heaven but Thee?
In Your promises I find peace:
“Where can I hide from Your Spirit? From Your presence, where can I flee? If I ascend to the heavens, You are there; if I lie down in Sheol, You are there too. If I fly with the wings of dawn and alight beyond the sea, Even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand holds me fast.” (Psalm 139: 7-10 NAB)
I look to You, O Lord.
Your hand writes the wondrous story of my faith and hurls the anchor of hope in my direction.
Your arms caress me in a peace-filled embrace and Your hand guides me along the path written in Your book.
I shall praise You all my days. Amen.
