Abiding in Christ
Toni Babcock
“Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of God our Father. To him be the glory forever and ever, Amen.” (Galatians 1:3-5 CSB)
The soul who believes in Jesus should realize Jesus Christ is much more than a Person who abides within those who receive Him—He himself is a dwelling place for us to abide in (Ephesians 2:4-6 CSB).
This is the assurance we need when teetering on the edge of uncertainty or facing a testing or trial.
Being “in Christ” gives us courage to weather the storm knowing He is a refuge (Psalm 61:3 CSB), a Sabbath Rest (Hebrews 4:9 CSB), the Rock on which we stand (1 Corinthians 10:4 CSB), and the strong tower we run to when everything seems to be falling apart (Psalm 18:2 CSB).
In a world torn apart by sin and evil, isn’t it good to know we are “in Christ” where nothing can harm our souls?
Let us therefore learn to quiet our anxieties over “the present evil age” and abide peacefully in Christ.
Jesus would have it so (John 15:4 KJV).
We may not be removed physically from all the turmoil on the planet but we can certainly be renewed spiritually with the knowledge that Jesus Christ is still on the throne, and we are still assuredly in Him once we have believed.
