The Rapid Rise of Actual Witchcraft in America Is Real and Frightening

This week, many little girls around the country may dress up as witches for Halloween, some perhaps cute and others a little scary. 

But there is nothing pretend about the very real—and very frightening—presence of witchcraft in America, says author and national radio host Dr. Michael Brown.

In his popular new book Jezebel's War with America: The Plot to Destroy Our Country and What We Can Do to Turn the Tide, Brown says that the spirit of Queen Jezebel, an incredibly evil and demonically controlled woman from the Bible, is still operating in America today and is evident through the rapid rise of witchcraft and sorcery across the nation.

For example, while researching Jezebel's War with America, Brown began searching for headlines about witchcraft in modern America. 

Here is just a sampling of what he found:

"Can we deny that the spirit of Jezebel, the woman known for her sorceries and witchcraft (see 2 Kings 9:22), is thriving in America today?" 

Brown said. "Can we deny the connection between: 

1) our turning away from the one true God after idols; 

2) the massive spike in pornography and immorality; 

3) the militant, child-killing spirit; 

4) radical feminism; 

5) the aggressive LGBT movement and 

6) the sudden rise in witchcraft?

"There is Jezebel the woman, the wife of Ahab and the daughter of a pagan king," Brown continued. 

"That woman is long dead. 

And there is Jezebel the spirit, meaning the demonic power that acted through her and through her New Testament counterpart. 

Almost a thousand years after the death of Jezebel, Jesus Himself referred to her again: 

'But I have a few things against you: You permit that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat food sacrificed to idols' (Rev. 2:20)."

Jezebel, Brown says, was at it again, even in Jesus' time—seducing, deceiving and destroying, turning God's people away from the truth into sexual immorality and idolatry.

"In that sense, Jezebel has appeared on the scene over and over again throughout history, right until this day," he said. 

"Jezebel was not simply a domineering, manipulative woman. 

She was demonically empowered as well; hence her almost supernatural ability to intimidate and control. 

And when we see this same type of demonic activity at work in our day, we identify it as the spirit of Jezebel. 

This doesn't mean there is a specific demon or principality named Jezebel. 

It means there are certain characteristics associated with Jezebel, and when we see this same set of characteristics at work, we know who is behind it. 

It is satanic, it is systematic and it is intentional.

"And the rise of witchcraft in America has Jezebel's name written all over it—in all caps, boldly and clearly. The dots are all connected. The picture is there to see. Ahab's queen lives on."

Jezebel's War with America focuses on the fact that the spirit of the biblical figure Jezebel is at work today through not only a fascination with witchcraft and sorcery, but also with radical feminism coupled with the extreme pro-abortion movement and other spiritual and cultural forces in an attempt destroy America.
