No Anxiety
Tricia Draper
Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. (Philippians 4:6)
This is a powerful verse, and we need to break it down into sections.
The first part tells us something significant.
It shows us how to live our lives.
Often, we can let the concerns and worries of our lives weigh us down.
We may be worried about our kids, job, or even self-conscience of ourselves.
There is a whole host of diseases centered around worry and anxiety.
Both cause stress that can harm us physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally.
When we let the cares of this world overwhelm us, we can become more focused on our situation, than God.
It is only when we truly trust God and cast our cares on Him, that we can live a life free from anxiety and worry.
This does not mean that we will never have any problems.
It simply means that when we do, we will not be overwhelmed because Christ is at the center of our lives.
We can always trust Him to lead and guide us when we have placed the entirety of our cares in His capable hands.
Worry and anxiety have no place in our lives as God’s beloved children.
Let’s turn our problems over to Him today, the only One who can take those trials and give us His perfect peace in return.
Lord, help me to cast my cares on You today. Help me let anxiety and worry have no place in my life. Thank You for Your peace right now. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
