Dear Friend,
You have the opportunity to stand for religious liberty!
Here’s how: send a comment to Department of Labor (DOL) Secretary Alex Acosta!
The DOL has issued a proposed rule to ensure that churches and other faith-based employers have a level playing field for obtaining federal contracts.
These protections are nothing new, but the previous administration severely limited them.
With this proposed rule, the DOL is simply reiterating that faith and religion are welcome in the public square and do not have to remain inside the walls of your home or place of worship.
The Supreme Court recently reiterated this clear First Amendment principle in Trinity Lutheran Church v. Comer.
In that case, a church that ran a daycare center was denied access to a government grant program for nonprofit organizations to make their playgrounds safer for children, simply because they were a church.
The Supreme Court made clear that Trinity Lutheran Church had just as much right to participate in the grant program as any other daycare center; their status as a church did not prevent them from playing an equal role in the public square.
In order to help ensure that religious liberty is upheld across our nation, the DOL needs to hear from you today!
Your public comment is required by law to be reviewed by DOL, so your voice will be heard.
Those desiring to stamp out religious liberty are sure to submit a number of comments opposing this proposed rule. Your voice is urgently needed!
Please comment today!
Thank you!
