I had
the privilege of attending the Resurrection Day presentation of the
Silver Creek Fellowship, in Silverton Oregon.
They
began with video clips of Billy Graham proclaiming the proof and
reality of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, and what it means to all
who have put their Faith in Christ Jesus today—That just as Christ
Jesus was raised from the Dead, so will all who have put their Faith,
Hope and Trust in Him today, be raise from the dead.
The
worship music then continued to proclaim the wonder, majesty and
miracle of the Resurrection. They captured the ethos of this World
Changing Event in all of its emotion and grandeur.
The
message given by Lead Elder Rob Barnes gave an account of what
preceded, and what followed, the Resurrection, in the Jewish
Community of that day. How the Jewish people were divided as to who
Jesus was, some believing Him to be the Messiah and some, especially
the Jewish religious leaders, not believing He was the Christ.
He
then gave and account of the Christ Jesus' proclamation on the
Greatest Day of the Feast, from John 7:37-40: “If a man is Thirsty,
let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture
has said, streams of Living Water will flow form within him.” By
this He meant the Spirit Whom those who believed in Him were later to
receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus
had no yet been Glorified.
He
recounted, that Jesus had told His disciples, that the Spirit was
with them and would be in them. On The Day Of Pentecost, this became
reality. Christ Jesus poured out upon His disciples what He and the
Father had Promised—The 120 were Filled with the Holy Spirit, and
the Church of Jesus Christ was given Birth.
Lead
Elder Rob Barnes told how, today, the invitation of Christ stands, as
it did in the His day; Anyone who is Thirsty can come to Christ Jesus
and drink and receive the Spirit of the Living God—And never Thirst
again. They can find the one, and only thing, that can satisfy the
Soul of man, as designed by God Almighty—Man was design by God to
have an empty place within him that can only be filled by the Spirit
of the Living God. As the apostle Paul said: It is Christ in us the
Hope of Glory. (Colossians 1:27) That is the only Hope that exists in
this World, regarding what occurs, following Death.
