MANHATTAN DECLARATION
Dear Friend,
Don’t you feel like our culture is moving further and further away from the values that have held everything together in the past?
I am not saying that the “good old days” were always good, but at times, I feel as though we are actively trying to undermine the ideals that give our lives purpose and point us to something bigger and better than ourselves.
Nowhere is this more apparent than issues related to life.
It’s gotten so bad that an abortionist recently posted on social media, in defense of an accusation that the screams of children are heard in her clinic, that she cuts their throats before they are able to scream.
Talk about inhuman and horrific.
But as you know, there is always hope; and that hope is found in our Christian faith. Jesus Christ, through his death and resurrection, gives each and every one of us, and the culture in which we live, a chance for redemption and a path to compassion and grace.
When it comes to defending the sanctity of life and the sanctity of marriage and the family as God designed them, we as followers of Christ must take a stand for what we believe in; we must help our neighbors understand what we believe and why we believe it (1 Peter 3:15).
Care Net is working to empower folks, like you, to do just that -- to teach our culture that abortion is wrong, life is sacred, and God’s design for the family is life-giving. Moreover, we must equip ourselves to provide compassion, hope, and help to women and men considering abortion -- to help them choose life for their unborn children and abundant life for their families.
Because if we don’t do it, who will?
That is why I’m asking you to take a stand with us.
Do you believe followers of Christ must stand for the unborn?
