Anyone who has watched a video of Planned Parenthood employees sorting through dismembered baby parts and have heard their officials attempt to sell them knows that Planned Parenthood is a criminal enterprise. But they are not above the law and must be investigated.

The Center for Medical Progress' unsettling undercover videos revealed Planned Parenthood executives coldly talking about harvesting organs and attempting to sell body parts from aborted babies. The videos completely exposed the criminal underbelly of the abortion industry and Planned Parenthood's despicable trafficking of aborted babies' body parts.
 

The disturbing videos prompted congressional hearings and investigations by both Chambers of the 114th Congress.

Representative Marsha Blackburn chaired the House Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives. The Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Senator Charles Grassley, launched a separate investigation.
 

Both investigative bodies found enough evidence that criminal acts had taken place and called on the FBI to examine their findings. As submitted in a letter to then Attorney General Loretta Lynch and FBI Director James Comey, the congressional committees referred "several Planned Parenthood affiliates and companies involved in fetal tissue transfers, as well as the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, to the FBI and the Department of Justice (DOJ) for investigation and possible prosecution."

Plus, in an unexpected disclosure, the congressional reports called out the DOJ for "failure of the Department of Justice, across multiple administrations, to enforce the law that bans the buying or selling of human fetal tissue (42 U.S.C. § 289g-2) with even a single prosecution. It also documents substantial evidence suggesting that the specific entities involved in the recent controversy, and/or individuals employed by those entities, may have violated that law."

The Obama administration's Justice Department not only ignored Congress' requests for an investigation, they were shamefully negligent in enforcing the law.

Now, Senator Grassley has relaunched his request for an FBI investigation, this time sending the request to a compliant Department of Justice under the leadership of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and to Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe.
 

As Senator Grassley wrote, "[U]nless there is a renewed commitment by everyone involved against commercializing the trade in aborted fetal body parts for profit, then the problem is likely to continue."

The time is well overdue for the FBI to conduct an investigation of Planned Parenthood and other companies that profit from aborted baby body parts. These companies are making outrageous profits from killing babies.
