Canada: 21-year-old Muslim who brutally beat, cracked skull of elderly woman on morning stroll, charged with attempted MURDER

On Sunday, October 8, Anne Widholm, 75, took a stroll on the Ganatchio trail in Windsor, Ontario. Police are charging that Habibullah Ahmad, 21, attacked Widholm and left her unconscious and near death.Windsorites did learn that Widholm, a grandmother, suffered “the worst skull fractures I’ve seen in my 12 years here in Windsor,” as neurosurgeon Dr. Balraj Jhawar told reporters. The victim’s lacerated scalp, bruised face and fractured neck vertebrae were “among the most brutal things I’ve seen in my career.” (CFP)

She suffered multiple brain hemorrhages, a blood clot on the surface of her brain that was immediately threatening her life, extensive skull fractures, fractured vertebrae in her neck, a lacerated scalp and a badly bruised face.Defence lawyer Patricia Brown said Monday she respected the judge’s decision to deny her client bail, adding she would review the situation to see what the next steps might be. She said she couldn’t comment further because the case is still in such an early stage.“We’re only in the preliminary stages of these proceedings at this time, so it’s totally improper for me to give a comment or statement,” said Brown. “We’re just going through disclosure and, like I said, we just completed his initial bail hearing and we’ll see what happens next.”
