Recognize Him
by Robert Schaetzle
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV
What we need to be about every day is growing and learning to recognize the very presence of God leading and prompting us. Too often we miss blessings and opportunities to bless designed for us, due to distractions and busyness in our lives.
To prosper and be of great use to our Father, we need to slow down and stay on the ‘narrow path’ God has set before us. In three and half years of ministry, Jesus never rushed as he walked with His Chosen Apostles from upper Galilee down through Judea.
He always had time to love others and never let the business of the world steal the power in His peace. He was always faithful to obey the Father’s purpose, not His own.
Take time to recognize your Fathers Spiritual prompting and pursue peace like Jesus. Walk in the spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. To do this, you will need to slow down and get out of the commuter lane.
Listen for His voice, asking for direction before making a decision and stop boxing yourself in with time restrictive plans. Instead, pay attention to the spirit moment by moment.
Take time with neighbors, at work, school, home, and in the church to love those around you as your Father loves you. Be steadfast in the Lord, immovable to the task before you.
Father, lead us down that ‘narrow path’ you have for us. Each day assign us faith to recognize and obey your leading. Enable us to be steadfast in you, for the work before us. Amen
