AT LAST, LIBERALISM IS REAPING GREAT REWARDS

Exclusive: Patrice Lewis sees 'progressivism' driving millennials to the right

The news stories are coming in so thick and fast, it’s hard to keep up:

• PETA claims white milk is a “symbol of white supremacy”
• Student has grade docked for using “mankind” in English paper
• Student punished with mandatory diversity training for “All Lives Matter” tweet
• Violence and intimidation against Republicans are becoming the New Normal
• Black students demand segregated spaces from white students
• Feminist writer says being a stay-at-home mom should be illegal

… and on and on and on.

So let me see if I understand things correctly: Discrimination is now celebrated, intolerance is legislated, violence is encouraged, parenting should be illegal, and segregation is once again popular and accepted – even demanded.

This is progress?

One of the favorite tactics of liberals is to accuse people of something they’re not guilty of. The accused then spends all their time and effort trying to convince the accuser they’re not guilty of the accusation. But it will never work. Ever. Ever.

An unknown author wrote, “The Democratic Party is the world’s most successful hate group. 

It attracts poor people who hate rich people, black people who hate white people, gay people who hate straight people, feminists who hate men, environmentalists who hate the internal combustion engine, and a lot a bratty college kids who hate their parents. 

However, the real secret of the party’s success is that it attracts the support of journalists who hate Republicans, and who therefore work tirelessly to convince the rest of us that we should vote for Democrats.”

Recently, a HuffPost article, which went viral, showed “how to really turn up the heat on elected officials.” 

The author encouraged protesters to harass Republicans at dinner, when they’re out shopping and even at home, and he argued societal norms for the basic levels of decency one should afford political opponents no longer apply to liberals. 

“It’s time to move beyond polite protests within specified boundaries,” he wrote. 

“It’s time to escalate the expression of our outrage and our anger in a massive way.”

These tactics are backfiring. 

People are finally recognizing liberals will never be satisfied, no matter what. No amount of groveling, no amount of concession, no amount of legislation, no amount of agreement, no amount of apology, no amount of guilt will ever satisfy them. Ever. Ever. So don’t even try.

In fact, more and more people are getting fed up with these incendiary, intolerant progressive tactics … and not just conservatives. 

Even liberals are starting to wonder – uneasily – if things have gone too far.

“PETA’s anti-milk crusade jumps the shark,” said a headline, causing one disgusted person to note, “Wow this is stupid on a whole new level. Saying this as a vegetarian.”

Which is why we’re starting to see some interesting counter-reformation news articles about the push-back against liberalism. One such article from the Telegraph stated, “The student left’s culture of intolerance is creating a new generation of conservatives.”

“With all of this book-burning and platform-denying madness sweeping up much of the media’s interest in campus culture,” said the Telegraph, 

“the gradual rise of another group of students has gone under-reported. British and American millennials and post-Millennials – also known as ‘GenZ’ – are warming to conservatism.”

We have radical feminists who believe: “Rather than wail about the supposed liberation in a woman’s right to choose to shun paid employment, we should make it a legal requirement that all parents of children of school-age or older are gainfully employed.”

Yet millennial women are embracing a new and horrifying trend: a homemaker lifestyle.

“The liberal imagination tends to assume not only that history unfolds in a progressive direction but also that progressivism’s disparate values and groups need not contradict one another,” notes the (progressive) Washington Post, which goes on to fret, 

“Now there are new signs that another prized progressive value, gender equality, may be in trouble – partly thanks to key members of the progressive coalition. … 

After embracing increasingly feminist family attitudes from the 1970s to the 1990s, young adults are more likely to embrace traditional attitudes about male breadwinning, female homemaking and male authority in the home.”

Even the liberal New York Times ran a piece entitled 

“Do Millennial men want stay-at-home wives?” The Times states how they “continue to pin our hopes on an evolutionary process of generational liberalization” and tried to come up with agitated and creative excuses to explain this appalling interest in traditional values:

“[T]he increased support for male leadership in home life among 18- to 25-year-olds may reflect an attempt to compensate for men’s loss of dominance in the work world.”

The implication, of course, is that only horrible troglodytes who lament “men’s loss of dominance” in the work world – not Real Progressive Men who celebrate such things – prefer stay-at-home wives.

Or maybe, just maybe, millennials got smart and realized babies need their mommies and it’s not necessary to reinvent the wheel.

Even the occasional brave college is refusing to tolerate snowflakes, such as Oklahoma Wesleyan University President Everett Piper who wrote an open letter to his students, explaining the campus was not a day care but a university.

Frankly, people are getting tired of tiptoeing around on eggshells for fear of “triggering” some pathetic snowflake. No wonder there’s a backlash.

The reason for this increased disgust is simple: 

Younger people are recognizing the radical social experiments of the last 50 years haven’t worked. 

Rather than smoothing out all social problems, it’s caused horrific upheaval in our society. 

Rather than progressing toward equality, it’s caused a massive divide. Rather than creating Utopia, it’s given us a taste of Hell.

As the saying goes, “Not all Americans are dumb; it’s just that the dumb ones are very, very loud.”

But liberalism is reaping great rewards: 

It’s pushing people toward conservatism. As a recovered liberal feminist who spent my younger years gullibly swallowing every progressive talking point (including abortion), I offer the hand of welcome to those taking their first tottering steps across the bridge dividing our nation.

Welcome to the land of conservatism. I think you’ll be very happy here.
