Lynch Completes Takeover, Federalizing Of Baltimore PD As City Surrenders
The announcement by Loretta Lynch and the Baltimore Mayor in training is the next nail in the coffin as the leftists continue their push to federalize the police in that city. Today’s announcement of a consent decree which is in essence a surrender to the control and terms of the federal government by the local authorities, provides the legal authority for the power grab.
This was not at all unexpected; it’s been in the works and was much of the impetus for the police vilification and targeting that went on in 2015 and 2016. Hacked emails of the Lynch and Obama puppeteer George Soros‘ Open Society Institute reveal that they clearly saw the racial unrest, which they undoubtedly helped escalate, as one of those crises that can’t be allowed to go to waste. The email described the unrest over the Freddie Gray death as a “unique opportunity” to create “accountability” for the Baltimore police and assist agitators in “reforming the city.”
The information was part of a detailed 69-page Open Society report, and stated, “While many lamented the damage done, the overwhelming sentiment is that the uprising has catalyzed a paradigm shift in Baltimore that offers opportunities for major justice reforms.” It continued, “OSI-Baltimore will focus investments on: 1) creating a culture of accountability for policing in Baltimore, recognizing the pervasive racism, disrespect and lawlessness that gave rise to recent events; and 2) building the capacity of activists in Baltimore to demand and achieve immediate and long-term reforms.”
As usual, Soros was more than willing to put his money where his agenda is, with the report stating, “Recognizing the need for strategic assistance, the U.S. Programs Board approved $650,000 in Opportunities Fund supportto invest in technical assistance and support for the groups at the core of the burgeoning BlackLivesMatter movement.”
The racist anti-American agitator disguised as an Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, proudly announces her successful seizure of control of the Baltimore Police, saying, “After the thorough and good faith negotiations ‘engaged in long and hard,'” which brought a giggle from the starry-eyed new mayor trainee, “all day and well into the night, the Department of Justice and the City of Baltimore have agreed to enter into a court-enforceable consent decree to remedy the violations the we identified,” in their investigation.
This is a surrender to the deep pockets and teams of lawyers of the federal government, as they take over based upon what they determined, without any realistic avenues for appeal or representation by the city, to be areas that they would be able to trample upon the rights of a municipality and prevail. Those evaluations were fortified by complicit city officials and the sleazy, ever intrusive Rep Elijah Cummings (D-MD).
Lynch says, “This agreement is robust, it is comprehensive, it includes a range of reforms to achieve our three main goals.” What she’s saying there is that not a stone of the original police department was left unturned, that they’ve completely eviscerated the BPD that used to be. Lynch says that “from all our time in Baltimore,” which was taxpayer money thrown down the drain, there were three main issues that emerged in the Democrat controlled city.
First on her list was of supposed needs was “to assure effective and constitutional policing. Second to restore the community’s trust in law enforcement and finally, to advance public and officer safety.” Those are the nice, vague, feel good goals that Democrats throw out as they achieve an eleventh hour coup and takeover.
Mayor Pugh obviously doesn’t know much about what was going on and was likely given a copy of the document to review once the lawyers had finished performing the collective emasculation of their police department.
She sounds like a woman who typed “good objectives for police departments” into a search engine and came up with a list of words that she believes makes her sound like she’s on the ball and an effective leader. She talks of what will now be breathed into the BPD, apparently a literal hellhole before, completely lacking in, but now blessed with, increased transparency, public input, oversight, accountability, discipline, fair treatment, and respect for everybody.”
Pugh says officers will be required to use de-escalation techniques, apparently standing in place and eating bricks during the riots was too aggressive for the new department. She repeats training four times, although arguable she’s demonstrating the greatest need is her own, personally. Again dispelling the notion that she was involved in or has a clue with what transpired, she cites the 40 hours of training that Baltimore Police officers will be subjected to now, only to be correct in the number of hours as twice that amount.
She goes on to say the training is “Because this is a very diverse city, whether you’re gay, straight, bi-sexual, transgender, it does not matter.” Don’t you want to throw some racism in at that point, mayor? That’s the spot most of your fellow Dems usually toss a couple in. Maybe a reference to Muslims in honor of the outgoing Attorney General and her pretend ‘president’ would be nice.
Get ready, Chicago. With these new restrictions on policing, Baltimore is going to give you a run for your money as the murder capital of the US.
