'GAY' RIGHTS BUILT ON DECEPTION, AUTHOR REVEALS

'Keep propagating the truth until the lies are dispelled'

Homosexuality is much more widely accepted in America today than it was 30 or 40 years ago, but one author argues the surging “gay” rights movement is built on deception.

“It’s important to understand that many of the foundational principles of gay activism are based on lies and exaggerations,” said Michael Brown, an author, national talk-radio host and president of FIRE School of Ministry.

In Brown’s latest book, “Outlasting the Gay Revolution,” he attempts to expose some of the lies coming from the activists. In fact, the sixth principle he presents for how to outlast the “gay” revolution is “keep propagating the truth until the lies are dispelled.”

First of all, says Brown, it's not true that one in 10 Americans is "gay."

That misconception began with a 1948 study by Alfred Kinsey in which the sexologist reported 10 percent of males in his sample were "predominantly homosexual" between ages 16 and 55. But Kinsey also said it was impossible to determine the number of people who are homosexual or heterosexual; he could only determine behavior at any given time.

Besides, the documentation revealing Kinsey's information often came from pedophiles undermines any confidence that could be placed in his work.

And Americans tend to wildly overestimate the size of the "gay" population.

Gallup reported in May that on average, Americans believe 23 percent of the population is "gay." In reality, only about 3.8 percent of Americans identified themselves as "gay," lesbian, bisexual or transgender in the first four months of 2015, according to Gallup.

That number was even lower in 2014, when a report from the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics found 1.6 percent of Americans identified as "gay" or lesbian and 0.7 percent identified as bisexual. That same year, only 1.6 percent of adults in the U.K. identified themselves as "gay," lesbian or bisexual.

A second major lie, according to Brown, is that most suffering in the "gay" community is due to homophobia. This lie comes with a disclaimer.

"I do not downplay the fact that gay kids have been rejected by families and they've committed suicide," Brown clarified. "I grieve over that; I weep over that. I don't denigrate the idea that gay kids have been bullied at school. I constantly teach against bullying and say we must be respectful and caring for all, and we need to inculcate that in our kids."

Brown, a WND columnist, pointed out "gay" men suffer from higher rates of depression, tobacco and drug use, and sexually transmitted diseases, as the CDC has acknowledged.

Many people assume homophobia drives the higher rates of depression in "gays," but that's not necessarily the case. A 2014 study by Australian researchers found the leading cause of suicides among the "gay" population was not homophobia or rejection by family members, but rather relationship problems with their romantic partners.

A third lie, according to Brown, is that people are born "gay" and can't change their sexual practices.

"I understand that for most homosexual men and women, this is deep-seated in them to the point that they literally believe they were born that way," Brown said. "But there remains no reputable scientific evidence."

The American Psychological Association, which Brown notes is pro-homosexual, nonetheless writes this on its website:

"There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles; most people experience little or no sense of choice about their sexual orientation."

"If there was a gay gene or something, they would have been championing it," Brown said. "No, this is a myth that gay is the new black."

Historian David Benkof penned an article in 2014 in which he examined homosexuality from a historical and anthropological perspective, including insights from other scholars of "gay" history and anthropology. He concluded "gays" and lesbians are not born that way.

Benkof wrote: "According to the experts on homosexuality across centuries and continents, being gay is a relatively recent social construction. Few scholars with advanced degrees in anthropology or history who concentrate on homosexuality believe gays have existed in any cultures before or outside ours, much less in all cultures. These professors work closely with an ever-growing body of knowledge that directly contradicts 'born that way' ideology."

Another lie, according to Brown, relates specifically to the case of Matthew Shepard, who has become a symbol of anti-"gay" persecution. The common story is that two men murdered Shepard in 1998 for being "gay."

However, that story was debunked in 2013 by investigative journalist Stephen Jimenez.

He discovered anti-"gay" hatred was not the primary motivation for Shepard's murder, if it was a factor at all. Rather, Shepard and his killers knew each other because they were part of the crystal meth subculture of Laramie, Wyoming. The killers sought to beat Shepard because they thought he could lead them to a shipment of about $10,000 worth of meth coming in from Denver.

What's more, Shepard and Aaron McKinney, one of the killers, may have also slept with each other at one point.

It's important for Americans to not fall for all these lies coming from the "gay" rights movement, according to Brown.

"Why must you base a whole civil rights movement on a lie?" he asked. "Something is fundamentally wrong here, and that's why we say keep propagating the truth until the lies are exposed."
