The Temple’s Torn Veil

‘Then the veil of the Temple was torn in two from top to bottom.’ Mark 15:38 NKJV
Do you ever ask yourself the significance of some passages of scripture? Consider how this was a supernatural event, when the temple veil was torn at the moment of Jesus’ death on the cross. It was torn by God from the top down; and it now gives us access to God, not through the blood of bulls and goats, but through Jesus, as our high priest. Christ alone is our one and only Mediator. [1Timothy 2:5]
The torn veil also symbolizes Jesus’ broken and torn body. The suffering that occurred on the cross by Jesus was to obey the Father for our atonement. We’re to hold fast our confession with boldness through a new and living way; consecrated for us by Jesus through the veil of His flesh. We now have access to the Father any time day or night, any day of the year, no matter where we are.
When we come before His throne of grace in worship this Easter, we can know for certain this torn veil brought us hope. ‘For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.’ Romans 8:24-25 NKJV
Our treasure of hope given us through the torn veil of Jesus broken body was God’s invitation for us; to draw near to Him through faith given from above. This inheritance into the power His abiding presence is for all who take hold.
