Businesses get incentive for hiring illegals over citizens
Something that you don’t know about the Executive Overreach Order that Obama signed last week, is that under it, a business will receive a $3,000-per-illegal incentive for each illegal they hire. That’s right, the president not only overstepped his authority by refusing to deport over 5 million illegals, he is offering businesses three grand to give them jobs that our veterans and other citizens sorely need.
Since they are not eligible for health care, businesses will not face a penalty for not providing it to illegal immigrants, The Washington Times reported. Congressional aides condemned the loophole saying it puts illegal immigrants ahead of Americans in the job hunt.
“If it is true that the president’s actions give employers a $3,000 incentive to hire those who came here illegally, he has added insult to injury,” Rep. Lamar Smith, Texas Republican told The Washington Times. “The president’s actions would have just moved those who came here illegally to the front of the line, ahead of unemployed and underemployed Americans.”
In Chicago on Tuesday, the president praised the contributions to the United States by a broad patchwork of immigrants, saying it is imperative that the country act now to change its broken immigration policy amid repeated heckling from opponents. He said “studies showing that immigrants open one-fourth of all new U.S. businesses and that 40 percent of Fortune 500 companies were founded by immigrants or their children.” He neglected to mention that those businesses were founded by immigrants that came here legally and became American Citizens.
Obama’s executive actions have come under fire over the issue of amnesty for illegals. The measures would apply to parents of U.S. citizens or of legal permanent residents. The parents would have to have lived in the U.S. for at least five years. Obama also expanded a program designed to extend deportation protections to immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally as children. Many in the House and Senate believe as most American citizens, that Obama has neither the right nor authority to issue such far reaching measures on his own, and that such action was in fact unconstitutional.
