FRENCH OFFICIAL: 10,000 EUROPEANS IN JIHAD SOON

'Do you realize the threat that this represents?'

There could be as many as 10,000 Europeans who will have joined the jihadis fighting bloody battles in Syria and Iraq by the end of 2015, a top French officials has warned.

According to a report from Hurriyet Daily, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls issued the warning just this week.

“There are 3,000 Europeans in Iraq and Syria today. When you do a projection for the months to come, there could be 5,000 before summer and 10,000 before the end of the year,” Valls said in an interview with the French television channel iTele.

Part of the concern is over those who join the jihad, fight and survive and then return.

“Do you realize the threat that this represents?” Valls asked in the television interview.

So far, 90 French people have perished, “with a weapon in their hand, fighting against our own values,” he said.

Many Eureopean nations are dealing with the issue, as are the United States and Russia, too, of citizens going overseas to join ISIS, al-Qaida or other terror war players, then eventually returning.

French officials said in the Hurriyet Daily report that they have confiscated half a dozen passports and banned dozens more from traveling on reports they were going to Syria and Iraq to participate in the war among Muslim factions there.

WND had reported only a day earlier about another new jihadi threat to Europe.

That was when Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos warned Europe if the island nation did not get a sufficient economic crisis bailout, his nation would flood Europe with migrants and jihadists, providing them with papers to travel legally throughout the continent.

Greece is expected to go broke this month.

Kammenos said: “If Europe leaves us in the crisis, we will flood it with migrants, and it will be even worse for Berlin if in that wave of millions of economic migrants there will be some jihadists of the Islamic State, too.”

European Union finance chiefs are currently debating whether to continue a bailout plan, with Germany a deciding vote.

“If they strike us, we will strike them,” the official said. “We will give to migrants from everywhere the documents they need to travel in the Schengen area, so that the human wave could go straight to Berlin.” The Schengen area is passport-free.

Only Britain would be spared the threat, if carried out, as it has retained its border controls.
