School Tells Football Team To Stop Praying, This Coach Sets Em Straight
Gary Weiss, an Arizona high school football coach, claims he was told to tell his players to stop praying before and after games.
He did NOT comply with this ‘request’, and now he’s out of a job.
Weiss says:
“My concern is the rights of the kids…”
The school is countering this claim by saying that student led prayer is acceptable, and a local student even tweeted out this photo of both teams praying together after a game
Then, Mary Kamerzell, the local CFSD Super Intendant said this:
“Nothing limits the authority of the school/district to maintain order and discipline on school premises, to protect the well-being of students, and to assure that participation in such an activity is voluntary on the part of the students.”
Here we have a classic example of the state assuming powers that are not theirs.
“Nothing limits the authority of the school/district”
Since when do they get to play Masters of the Universe?
Their entire language is slanted against religion of any sort. They say that they have to maintain order and discipline. When does prayer cause a massive outbreak of disruption? And since when is prayer dangerous to one’s health?
This is ludicrous.
