Exclusive: Kathy Shaidle finds top host questioning pontiff's 'Marxist' ways

Having researched and debunked the myth that Pius XII was “Hitler’s Pope,” Savage turned his attention to the current leader of the Catholic Church.

“Now we have something different,” Savage told his listeners. “We have a Marxist pope, and I’m wondering if he’ll be remembered as ‘Lenin’s Pope.’

“Suddenly the pope, who has no background in science, is saying that global warming is the biggest threat to mankind,” Savage continued. “No mention of the Islamofascists who are killing Christians all over the world” (Free audio).

Pope Francis is one of the most popular people in the world, according to a recent Gallup Poll. President Obama took the top slot, and Savage wasn’t impressed.

“Are you kidding me? This shows you that the Gallup organization is just a shill for Obama,” Savage said. “They lost their credibility a long time ago” (Free audio).

Rush Limbaugh

Limbaugh was on vacation this week, but something he said on the air before he left continued to make headlines in his absence.

Commenting on rumors that actor Idris Elba might be replacing Daniel Craig as James Bond led Limbaugh to remark: “Idris Elba, which is – I can’t say African-American, ’cause he’s British. African English. African Brit. He’s black. … James Bond is a fictional character, obviously. James Bond was invented, created by Ian Fleming, a former spy, MI6, and James Bond is a total concept put together by Ian Fleming. He was white and Scottish, period. That is who James Bond is.”

Those who were outraged by Limbaugh’s comments neglected to point out that they’d been prompted by a linked Sony email, in which studio executives discussed the well-known fact that Hollywood movies with African-American stars tend to lose money overseas. The real “racists” would seem to be foreign audiences, not Limbaugh.

Aaron Klein

Klein and his listeners discussed the “Top 10 Most Spiked Stories of 2014,” the scandals and stories that were either misreported by the mainstream media or ignored completely.

As anti-police protests continue to plague the country, Klein revealed that they are being coordinated by professional activists who’d previously instigated the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations. One of these provocateurs, he’s discovered, is an unapologetically communist, anti-Israel group.

There’s a new Cold War between Russian and the United States, and Klein wonders if Obama’s sudden decision to renormalize relations with Cuba was a ploy to keep Russia in check (Free audio).

Mark Levin

Reports about Republican Majority Whip Steve Scalise alleged “ties” to former KKK leader David Duke provided plenty of scandal fodder during the Christmas season.

Mark Levin was more interested in Jeb Bush’s silence in the face of these stories.

“We’ve had nonstop Jeb Bush talk the last two weeks,” said Levin via email. “Is there a reason why he’s silent now about the GOP leadership debacle in the House? They are his supporters after all.”

Laura Ingraham

Ingraham was away this week, but she found time to comment via Twitter about a particularly troubling news story: that many recent illegal immigrants who were ordered to be deported “can’t be found.”

“How Shocking!” Ingraham tweeted on December 30: “Deportable Illegal Alien Families ‘Disappear.”

She’d predicted this development again and again on her radio show, when a wave of illegals swarmed the Texas borders between July and October.

Glenn Beck

Beck and his crew were also on vacation this week. One of his guest hosts was Canadian broadcaster Brian Lilley, a regular “foreign correspondent” on Beck’s show.

Lilley brought his unique and valuable perspective to hot-button topics like immigration and health care (Free audio).

“Was Glenn Beck right about Obama?” asked Jeffrey Lord in the American Spectator.

In 2009, Beck remarked that the president had “a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture” – a comment Beck’s critics continue to hound him about, even though Beck later walked back his remarks.

Today, post-Ferguson, Lord wonders if Beck should have apologized, writing: “So if, as we know now, the president in fact judges others by their skin color – if he sees in Michael Brown and Eric Garner not bullies and thieves but black men – the question recurs: Was Glenn Beck right?
