Wow. Guess Which State Is Handing Out Welfare in ARABIC?
Friday, December 26th, 2014
To quote Milton Friedman, “It is one thing to have free immigration to jobs. It is another to have free immigration to welfare. And you cannot have both.”
One of our states is learning that the hard way. It’s become the biggest destination for Muslim immigrants in the United States, and it’s now offering welfare assistance in Arabic.
That state is Michigan, home to both the largest Muslim population in the country and “Dearbornistan” — the city of Dearborn, which has become a mecca (forgive the pun) for Muslim immigrants.
According to Clash Daily, the state is now offering welfare assistance in Arabic on its website and its help line. A call to the Michigan Department of Human Services will play the message “Press 1 for English, press 2 for Spanish, or press 3 for Arabic.”
While a state offering welfare assistance in Arabic may not seem like a big deal to some, there are two reasons why it is.
Firstly, it adds yet more state bureaucracy. Welfare seekers who speak Arabic won’t be helped merely by random volunteers off the street, thrilled to offer their suddenly necessary skills to the state of Michigan free of charge.
Translators, both of written material and spoken word, will be needed, as well as other clerical staff fluent in the language. Given the rarity of qualified applicants who speak Arabic, these jobs will be more expensive to taxpayers.
The second reason is more ominous.
We reported earlier on a video called “How Many Wives Can a Muslim Have on Welfare in Michigan?”
It may sound far-fetched, but it actually brings up a sobering point.
Anyone with a desultory knowledge of Islamic law and American marriage law knows that the former allows multiple wives and the latter doesn’t.
However, according to the video, Muslims in Michigan could possibly fraudulently claim additional wives as “extended family members,” allowing them to defraud the taxpayer of theoretically unlimited benefits (although the video specifies Islam only allows up to four wives).
Given the extensive abuse of welfare benefits now, why should we want to make it easier?
Sadly, for reasons of political correctness, this sort of thing will become more and more common.
However, that doesn’t mean that reasonable citizens shouldn’t fight back against the bloating of the welfare system via the poison pill of political correctness.
