OBAMA'S 'LAWLESSNESS' NOW BEYOND 'PARTISANSHIP'
Andrew McCarthy: 'We have a monarch who is just making it up as he goes along'
Jerome R. Corsi
A former federal prosecutor who brought the evidence that convicted perpetrators of the first Islamic terror bombing at New York’s World Trade Center says unless the imperial aspects of Barack Obama’s White House tenure are challenged, and overturned, future presidents will use them as precedents.
And he said that all Americans should be concerned and alarmed and want it corrected, not just the president’s critics.
“The political case has to be made on presidential lawlessness,” said McCarthy, who recently released “Faithless Execution.”
“The precedents that President Obama’s lawlessness are setting today are going to be available to every future president regardless of party, regardless of ideology,” he said. “And any American who cares about whether we remain a nation of laws rather than being subjects of presidential whim, if you care about that, that shouldn’t be a conservative issue or a Republican issue. That should be an American issue.”
McCarthy spoke on Tuesday at the Metropolitan Club in New York for an event sponsored by Frank Gaffney and the Center for Defense.
McCarthy, whose book builds the case for the impeachment of Obama, suggested that perhaps an impeachment of the chief of the IRS might be a starting point, to build the political case for Obama’s impeachment.
“We’re not longer self-governing people,” he said. “We’re now the subjects of one man’s whim.
“This is a president who not only doesn’t execute his own law that he supported the way that it’s written, he makes it up as he goes along. He pronounces new laws within the law and even pronounces criminal penalties in connections with the laws he made up on top of the laws Congress wrote,” he said.
“We have a monarch who is just making it up as he goes along.”
When such individuals take control, he said, the population must make a decision.
“You either impeach them or you live with what they do. And I don’t think we can live with what they do anymore,” he said.
He explained what options are available.
“The only way you can fight back in our system at presidential lawlessness is either for Congress to use the power of the purse or to impeach corrupt officials. And if you’re unwilling to do either of those two things then you are essentially saying ‘we surrender.’ And I’m not ready to surrender. I don’t think most of the people in this room are ready to surrender.”
Starting with the IRS, he pointed out, “You have people in the IRS who are not only involved in profound abuse of power, but to use the power of the most intimidating federal bureaucracy and turn it against people who are your political enemies for nothing but political reasons. And then when you get called on it, to mislead Congress and destroy the evidence…
“And as far as I’m concerned, everybody says we’re not ready to impeach because we don’t have the votes. And that’s true enough. But you know, the IRS, unlike many other aspects of the government, the IRS is extraordinarily unpopular. And I sort of think if the Democrats want to defend the IRS in the runup to the midterm elections, let them defend the IRS,” he said.
However, letting the “corruption” go unaddressed is not an option.
“Of all the things we’ve seen in the Obama administration, I mean imagine this, go back five and a half years we’ve got Fast and Furious, we’ve had Benghazi, we’ve had rules of engagement imposed on our troops that, you know, twice as many American troops have been killed in Afghanistan since President Obama took office than were killed in the whole runup to the time he took office,” he said.
Here are some of McCarthy’s comments:
Omar Abdel Rahman and nearly a dozen others charged with the bombing, which failed to bring down the towers but killed six and injured more than a thousand.
McCarthy previously said Obama’s decision to release five known terrorists from Guantanamo Bay in exchange for one American soldier amounts to an impeachable offense.
Federal law forbids any “material support to terrorism,” he noted. And he said the president actions likely violated that provision.
“And because high crimes and misdemeanors (the offenses cited in the Constitution as reason for impeachment) are not statutory offenses but political wrongs that endanger the United States, the return of senior terrorists to the Taliban while we still have soldiers in harm’s way is, in my view, a ‘high crime and misdemeanor,’” McCarthy said.
An earlier book also made the original case for impeaching Obama. “Impeachable Offenses,” by Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott, has been called a blueprint for impeaching Obama, outlining the high crimes, misdemeanors, bribery and other offenses committed against the U.S. Constitution.
The Daily Mail called “Impeachable Offenses” “explosive,” saying the book contains a “systematic connect-the-dots exercise that the president’s defenders will find troublesome.”
Among the offenses enumerated in the book:
- Obamacare not only is unconstitutional but illegally bypasses Congress, infringes on states’ rights and marking an unprecedented and unauthorized expansion of IRS power.
- Sidestepping Congress, Obama already has granted largely unreported de facto amnesty to millions of illegal aliens using illicit interagency directives and executive orders.
- The Obama administration recklessly endangered the public by releasing from prison criminal illegal aliens at a rate far beyond what is publicly known.
- The president’s personal role in the Sept. 11, 2012, Benghazi attack, with new evidence regarding what was transpiring at the U.S. mission prior to the assault – arguably impeachable activities in and of themselves.
- Illicit edicts on gun control in addition to the deadly “Fast and Furious” gun-running operation intended, the book shows, to collect fraudulent gun data.
- And more.
My comments: Obama's lawlessness is testing the foundations of this Republic. If his lawlessness is allowed to stand there will be no more Republic but rather a Dictatorship. Understand the most Democrats would be happy with that, which is a travesty in itself. Unless America turns back to honoring God and and His Word, she has no future at all. Obama has demonstrated that he is anti-Christ in his laws, policies and actions, as are most Democrats. As long as they rule, America has no future.
