You've Got to Accentuate the Positive
Sim Lee
"Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners." 1 Corinthians 15:33 KJV
Bing Crosby used to croon some great advice: "You've got to accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, latch on to the affirmative, don't mess with mister in-between.”
Unfortunately, 80 percent of communication through social media today is negative. Much of this negativity comes from the people in the USA, who generate an enormous number of destructive messages daily. These messages help foster negative thoughts and attitudes worldwide. This in turn leads to negative actions, often contributing to global unrest, turmoil and death. Our words, their blood, and no real change.
As a Christian, we can and should make a difference. We are called to be a positive light in a dark and negative world. One tiny candle can cut through absolute darkness and social media is a great opportunity to let our light shine worldwide.
Won't you be one of the one out of five social media users who bring the Good News to others as a positive messenger. Be a light out there in cyberspace.
