We are called to be overcomers. But one thing we forget: we CANNOT overcome if there is nothing to overcome!
We cannot climb a mountain if there aren’t any mountains to climb.
We cannot swim across rivers if there are not any rivers to cross.
We cannot learn to swim if there is no water deep enough to swim in.
We cannot cross a desert if there are no deserts to cross.
We cannot be overcomers if there is nothing to overcome.
So God, in His love, gives us things to overcome.
And we respond with self-pity, resentment, complaints.
And we respond with self-pity, resentment, complaints.
Like a child thinking, “Mum does not love me. I begged for chocolate cake for tea and all I get is salad.”
Rev 3:5, (see also v12,21)
V5: “He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. NKJV
But how do I overcome the law of sin and death?
There is only one way: by trusting in the sacrifice of our Lord Yeshua (Jesus) on Calvary, where His blood was poured out FOR US.
There is only one way: by trusting in the sacrifice of our Lord Yeshua (Jesus) on Calvary, where His blood was poured out FOR US.
Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. NKJV
Let us all be overcomers.
It is time to thank God for the trials of daily life.
It is time to thank God for those who abuse us.
To forgive them and pray for God to bless them.
It is time to ask God to forgive us for our complaining, resentful attitudes.
“In everything give thanks”. 1 Thess 5:18a
