Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. Gal 6:7 BSB
Have you ever thought of sowing and reaping with regards to your thoughts?
The Bible is big on telling us to take our thoughts captive, to think of good, higher, and loftier things, to keep our thoughts on God and eternal things.
The Word is clearly telling us what kind of seeds we want to sow in our hearts and mind.
So how are you doing with God’s instructions in this area?
So how are you doing with God’s instructions in this area?
Are you reaping the benefits of planting good thoughts or are you reaping doubt, worry and fear along with the negative consequences that can come from sowing bad seeds?
Are you happy with your thinking?
Does it bring you hope, peace and joy?
If not, are you willing to change your thinking and obey God?
When we fail to do what God tells us to do, we only have ourselves to blame.
When we fail to do what God tells us to do, we only have ourselves to blame.
I must admit that while there have been times I have done fairly good in this area, lately is not one of them.
It seems like once we lean to the wrong kind of thinking, we find ourselves on a slippery slope and getting our thoughts under control can take real effort and time.
Remember, the thoughts we are planting are seeds and seeds take time to grow.
So, if we decide to change today, it will take a farmer's patience to replace the weeds with the crop we desire that brings us hope, peace and joy.
I can tell you something for certain though, it will not be easy, but it will be worth it and the Holy Spirit will be there to help you.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable— if anything is excellent or praiseworthy— think on these things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Phil 4:8-9 BSB
