“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.” (I Timothy 6: 6-8 KJV).
Today’s world has the power to tempt us to put our main focus and motivation on achieving financial success.
Today’s world views financial prosperity and the abundance of possessions as the central goal, and the key determining factor as to whether or not we are a successful person.
However, Jesus warned “…take heed and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of things which he possesseth,” (cf. Luke 12: 15 KJV).
Jesus is the way to true success.
Jesus is the way to true success.
It comes from our salvation in Jesus Christ and living by God’s word, and the law of faith and love.
The Bible teaches us how to have contentment and true success in Joshua 1:8.
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate there in day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success,” (Joshua 1:8 KJV).
Meditating on God’s word, precepts, and commandments – and observing to do and live by them will give us true Godly success with contentment.

Seeking God and his word must come first in our lives.
Our lives must be built on the foundation of Christ’s love and life.
We don’t have to worry about how our basic needs are going to be met if we put and seek God and his righteousness first.
Our God promises this provision: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you,” (Matthew 6: 33 KJV).
Our jobs, our careers, our abundant possessions and elite education are not the key to true success in this life.
Father God, help me not to make money and the acquisition of abundant possessions my main goal in this life.
