Hi Friend, Have you ever seen a restored classic car? There’s really nothing more beautiful than a shiny, super cool old Mustang cruising down the freeway, carefully brought back into its original showroom condition—the way it was intended to be when it was first created. I think there’s a reason we’re so drawn to that. In the beginning, God created us to live in a deep, intimate relationship with Him. The wreckage of our sin—mine and yours—has decayed our original intent. But there is hope for holy restoration . . . not only in eternity, but on this side of Heaven too. Revival is a spiritual reawakening. It’s a renewed love for God, an appreciation of His holiness, a passion for His Word and His Church, and a desire for repentance and righteousness. Revival invigorates our faith, opening our eyes to the truth in a fresh, new way. It’s a restoration of our hearts. I’ve been a part of a revival before! The Jesus Movement of the 1970s was a global work of the Holy Spirit that touched countless lives—including my own. It’s something that I’m so thankful I was a part of and something I’m praying I’ll get to see again. Friend, I know that God is ready to bring revival once more. He wants to restore us to our original condition—both as individual believers and as the Church, ready to go and make disciples of all people with love and truth. But are you ready? The best way to prepare for revival is to study the times that God has brought widespread heart restoration before. My book Jesus Revolution—the inspiration for a major film by the same name premiering in theaters nationwide next month—chronicles the Jesus Movement and my own personal journey to faith. I’d love to give it to you today when you choose to make a gift toward the mission of Harvest Ministries this month. |
