Choices, Part 31
Hebrews 12:26-29 is a poignant portrayal of what is happening in our own times, including a hope that can keep us stable even in the most troubling times:
And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying,
“Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.”
This expression, “Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Even the seemingly most stable governments in the world are being shaken to their foundations in our time. What few may comprehend is how important and how good this is for those whose hope is in God’s coming kingdom. This must happen before God’s kingdom can come or even be revealed.
The kingdom of God is already growing in our midst, which is crucial for us to see. We know from the biblical prophecies that the kingdom will not fully come until the King does, but the prophecies also declare that He is coming in His people before He comes for them...
