Nearly half of Dems feel less safe since Biden took office
Overall, nearly 7 in 10 Americans have that concern

New polling reveals that nearly half of the nation's Democrats feel less safe since Joe Biden, their own party's candidate for president, was elected and moved into the White house.
The polling comes from Convention of States Action, which worked with The Trafalgar Group, on a poll that surveyed more than 1,000 likely 2022 election voters from Sept. 17=20.
Overall, the polling revealed that 67.9% of voters "say they do not feel as safe in America compared to two years ago."

That would be just as the 2022 presidential election was approaching.
"On the heels of our polling revealing that the majority of Americans believe President Biden is dividing our country, we now see Americans also feel less safe today than they did just two short years ago," said Mark Meckler, president of the Convention of States.
"This isn’t a partisan issue, it’s just common sense. Americans support people who will uphold our laws and advocate for the safety and welfare of our citizens, rather than on behalf of criminals and lawbreakers doing harm to our families and communities."
In addition to the 67.9% who say they do not feel as safe today, another 27.1% said they've felt no change.
It is 64.1% of independent voters who say they feel less safe, while 30.9% feel no change.
And it is 86.8% of Republicans who say they feel less safe, while 9.8% perceive no change.
And 44.9% of Democrats "say they feel less safe than before," the polling report said.
Only a few more, at 47.8%, of Democrats said they perceived no change in safety.
It was a week earlier that the same polling partnership reported the nation's concern that Biden is dividing the country.
Its polling then showed a significant majority of Americans say Biden is a great divider, that he's actually creating divisions across the nation with his constant rhetoric attacking the 74 million who voted for Trump. Biden has called them "semi-fascists."
A total of 58.7% said Biden has divided the nation during his time as president, while only 20.6% say he's "unified" it.
"Joe Biden came into office assuring us that the adults are now back in charge, and that he is the man to unify the country," explained Meckler then.
"He has done the exact opposite, and voters see that clearly. Joe Biden is perhaps the most divisive president in U.S. history."
He continued, "Div[id]ing the electorate may work politically in the short-term, but it’s dangerous and crippling for the nation. It’s one thing to attack a candidate who is your political opponent. It’s wholly different to attack 50% of the electorate and expect that it will not divide the country.
"President Biden is uniquely dangerous in his broad attacks on every single American who disagrees with him. This November, we need leaders who will think about country, not party."
It would be expected that Republicans believe Biden is a divider, and 92.5% said that is the case.
They were joined by 64.1% of independents who believe "Biden has divided the country during his time as president."
Even 17.9% of Democrats from Biden's own party say he's divided the nation. Not even a majority of the members of that party say he's unified America, with only 43.6% in that category.
