Friend,
“Choose this day whom you will serve.” Our nation is standing at this same crossroad.
Will we accept only leaders who are pushing filth and debauchery on kindergarteners, or will we allow and support people of faith in government positions of leadership?
The intentionally misleading “Respect for Marriage Act” (HR 8404) carries language that will have the effect of pushing people of faith out of public service. If this bill passes, and if there is a person of faith who declines to fully celebrate and participate in same-sex “marriages,” not only will they be sued by the individual, but they will also face the full weight of the United States Department of Justice suing them personally as well as suing the government department, agency or locality where they serve.
This bill sets up people of faith to fail. Then it will provide ammunition for these radicals to attack and punish them. It will make people of faith a legal liability and a financial drain!
This is not an exaggeration. It has already happened.
When I defended Kim Davis for not signing her name onto a same-sex marriage license, she was sued in her official and individual capacity. The case is still ongoing even though the subsequent governor and a unanimous legislature granted her and other clerks religious accommodation. HR 8404 would undo the Kentucky law and other laws that provide religious accommodation.
I need your help to hold senators accountable and hold the line against HR 8404. The vote is coming soon and will be very close. Rush urgent faxes to the Senate against HR 8404.
Democrat Tammy Baldwin (WI) said she counted 10 Republicans to vote for HR 8404. But not so fast. Our team has been furiously meeting with senators and their staff. I cannot share details, but I will say we now have a chance to stop this bill—we must make an all-out effort. Your faxes are working. Don’t stop.
Under HR 8404, people like Kim Davis must either leave public service or violate their sincere religious beliefs. Moreover, if a federal law sets a policy endorsing under the rubric of marriage same-sex, child-bride or incestuous relations, then other laws and policies, including drag queen events will proliferate.
The real goal here is to silence and punish people of faith and anyone who dissents from the LGBTQ agenda.
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has invoked Rule 14, which means he can rush the bill to the floor without any Senate committee hearings. Democrats are working to rush this bill through so fast they aren’t even allowing testimony or public debate on it. Send your urgent faxes to the U.S. Senate today to oppose this outrageous bill.
Not only will HR 8404 force same-sex marriage on the states, it will also allow one state to set the marriage policy for every other state. And that means the impact goes far beyond same-sex marriage.
When it states “a marriage between 2 individuals,” the “2” is grammatically incorrect and could easily be removed to allow for polygamy and polyamory.
This bill also allows one state to set marriage policy for every other state and territory. Thus, California’s law that has NO age limit could force other states to recognize “child bride” marriages. I have been shocked by the thousands of young girls forced to be child brides, and I have been sickened by stories of pedophiles using this no-age-limit law to rape helpless girls.
Join us in blocking this radical bill with your rushed faxes now.
