Metamorphosis
Sheriena McEvers
How do we transform and become more Christ-like?
Is it positive thinking? Or is it supernatural?
Do we change ourselves by effort, or are we being changed?
Have you seen the phenomenon of a caterpillar changing into a butterfly?
Have you seen the phenomenon of a caterpillar changing into a butterfly?
God wants to change us miraculously too.
To make us new. He does it when we focus on Him.
It is not that we just picture ourselves as being different, and that changes us.
No, it is in seeing Jesus Christ for who He really is, God in the flesh, and wholeheartedly embracing His love and believing His words that we are transformed.
He is God in us.
He is God in us.
When we are born again, we receive His eternal life.
That isn't just for when we die.
It is for the present. Think about that for a minute.
There is God's supernatural power, Christ's eternal life in your spirit right now.
He is there to be your strength, your animating source, transforming you into a new person that will be more and more like Jesus.
What is our part?
What is our part?
To keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, to fully trust and yield to Him.
To allow Him to bring out the new creation, He has already placed in us.
The longer we gaze at Jesus, reading and believing His words that describe the new creation we have become, the more we are transformed through the process of metamorphosis like a caterpillar.
He will supernaturally remove the old ways and replace them with new ways, His characteristics, and His abilities powered by the Holy Spirit.
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV
Gracious Father, may we always yield to Your Spirit in us as You transform us into a new creation in Christ. Amen
