An Open Letter of Heartfelt Support for Franklin Graham

Franklin Graham is a beloved humanitarian statesman, an international evangelist and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Despite that, the left-wing group Faithful America (FA) has launched a vicious attack to force him from his leadership posts at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse.

Their angry accusations are false, inflammatory, and utterly unfounded. And these phony charges come from an organization fully aligned with the hard-left. Despite its name, Faithful America, founded in 2004 by the radical National Council of Churches, has been described as a “religious version” of the left-wing group, MoveOn.org. FA has already mounted campaigns to silence Mike Huckabee and Family Research Council president Tony Perkins. Now it is targeting Franklin Graham with bogus charges that have no foundation in truth.

Here are critical facts: Franklin Graham has called for peace and reconciliation in our nation. He urged a Trump-Biden White House meeting to “begin the healing.” He called on Christians to “unite our hearts together in prayer for President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.” And he urged believers to pray for “peace and calm” during the inauguration.

This is nothing more than a left-wing attack to silence a strong and unbowed Christian voice, one that is desperately needed in America today. That’s why I’m with Franklin! He is a treasure to the church who has enriched the legacy of his late father, famed evangelist Billy Graham. I urge the boards of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse to stand by him now.
