Over three thousand years ago, the Prophet Daniel predicted a time when there would be a great increase of knowledge and travel (see Daniel 12:4).
It has been estimated that from the beginning of recorded history, it took the composite knowledge of mankind over five thousand years to double.
Then it doubled again in about a century.
The increase of knowledge continued to accelerate until now it is estimated that it is doubling at the astonishing rate of every two years.
As the speed of increasing knowledge accelerated, travel went from the speed of a horse to thousands of jet aircraft going over 500 miles an hour transiting the earth every day.
As it used to take months for intercontinental travel, and was only possible by a very few, now almost anyone in the world can travel to almost anywhere in the world in a day or so.
Without question the great increase of knowledge has been a great benefit to mankind.
Now the poorest in some developed countries live better than kings did a short time ago.
Yet, there are regressive ideologies that are constantly seeking to drag mankind back to the dark ages of ignorance and bondage to a terrible tyranny, and they succeed with many.
How can these ideologies continue to have such appeal when they have a track record of total failure in producing what they promise?
In fact, they have consistently produced the opposite of what they promised.
In this time of such available knowledge, virtually every new generation succumbs to their siren song that has led to more death, destruction, corruption, and poverty than all of the previous influences on civilization combined.
How does this happen?
How do so many people remain so ignorant of such crucial knowledge in such a time of such great and increasing knowledge?
Could it be that with all of our pursuit of knowledge we have neglected some of the most important knowledge of all?
And what would that knowledge be?
With the pursuit of knowledge, we need to include a pursuit of wisdom, which is the ability to apply the knowledge correctly.
The Second Law of Thermodynamics, a law that our basic understanding of physics is based on, clearly reveals that the known physical world had an Intelligent Designer.
No doubt the most important question we should ask is who that is and what is His plan.
Next to that would be the knowledge of history so that our great increase of knowledge is not constantly undermined by the repeating of previous mistakes.
The saying that “Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it,” has proven true as every generation inevitably does this.
It’s understandable that with everything moving so fast toward the future that it is hard to stop and look backwards, but we must have the discipline to do this.
Otherwise, we will keep wasting much more time than it requires to fix the unnecessary mistakes we make by not knowing history.
As we continue our study of the three ideologies—Darwinism, Marxism, and Freudian psychology—together these have brought more trouble and corruption upon mankind than perhaps all of the evil before them.
They are also the source of the great social crises of our time.
Even though science has debunked all three of these teachings, their influence continues to be substantial and devastating.
How can we be delivered from their shackles?
As covered, all three of these ideologies were intended to be a fundamental attack on the belief in God.
As each was embraced it released a terrible poison into the heart of mankind, and this resulted in unprecedented death and destruction.
It is noteworthy that all three of these ideologies released new levels of racism and bigotry never known before as well.
As we will cover in a future Brief, racism has released more death and destruction into the world than anything else, and these three evil ideologies released more racism into the earth than any previous sources.
Hitler based his concept of the super race on Darwin's theory of natural selection.
He taught that if one race prevailed over the others then it was intended to be that way because of "survival of the fittest."
This was his version of natural law that gave place to the perverted morality that justified the strong dominating the weak; and by their definition doing basically what was needed to purge the world of human weakness and flaws.
Marx and Freud also borrowed heavily from Darwin and from each other.
Marx and Freud both had the supreme arrogance of thinking that they could fashion mankind into their concept of what mankind should be like.
Such ultimate pride will always release ultimate evil.
Freud was considered a genius, but geniuses can be perverted and delusional, as many of his teachings and theories were.
Marx considered himself the preeminent genius of his time, but it is very hard to find anything but nonsense in his theories.
They were obviously fueled by the bitter rage he had at the world for not recognizing his brilliance and worshipping him.
He died such a bitter man that those who knew him considered him perhaps the most despicable person of all time.
It was said of Marx that if anyone even questioned one of his theories that he would not just reject them, but would scorch the earth if necessary to destroy them.
Marxism would take on this same nature, becoming completely incapable of accepting any debate or challenge, and seeking to destroy those who presumed to challenge it.
We can see this in the impact his teachings have had on those indoctrinated by Marxist theory, as now such a high percentage of students in America think that freedom of speech should be abolished.
In the coming Briefs we will dig down a bit more to examine the actual roots of such a regression into darkness from these three ideologies.
We will also examine the light that counters them that sets men free and can keep us free.
Don’t believe everything you think. – Byron Katie
The problem is not to find the answer; it's to face the answer. – Terence McKenna
Although the world is very full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it. – Helen Keller
