He Almost Died
Ken Ebright
"As scripture says, anyone who calls on the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13" (NCV)
Brian is somebody I know who recently survived a massive heart attack.
On his way to the hospital, his heart stopped four times.
Sometimes when people die, they appear to go through a tunnel and see bright lights.
All Brian saw was darkness.
When I hear of someone that I know, passing away, it makes me stop in my tracks and think about death.

Brian is a Christian, so why didn't he see a bright light?
When I hear that he saw darkness instead, I wonder if he really is trusting Christ.
"God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life." John 3:16 NCV
To receive eternal life, you must call on the name of the Lord.

It is essential to understand when you say the prayer of salvation; it's about giving Him your whole heart.
God is omniscient and all-knowing, so he knows those who believe and those who do not.
I do street witnessing, and when talking to people, I run into people who reject Jesus.

What makes me sad is seeing anyone, both young and old, reject Jesus.
No one knows the day or hour when we will die.
We just know that each day we live, we are a day closer to that day.
Brian was given a second chance to sincerely place his faith in Jesus if he had not already.

Someday, each of us will die, and odds are we won't get a second chance like Brian.
If you have not yet, today would be a great day to call upon the Lord and be saved.
For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation. 2 Cor 6:2 NCV
Have you called on Jesus?
