Night Vision
Karen Pourbabaee
“Then afterward I will pour out My Spirit upon all mankind. Your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.” Joel 3:1 NAB
The promise of the Spirit is for all.
When the Lord ascended, the Holy Spirit descended so that we might have the presence of God near to us always.
That’s why He is called the Comforter.
The Holy Spirit comforts us, yet as the Spirit of Truth, He speaks to our hearts.
To navigate this pilgrim journey, we Christians need knowledge and wisdom.
The Holy Spirit will amply provide as we are alert to His voice and inspirations.
When we find ourselves lacking direction, answers, and vision, that is the time to implore God for an outpouring of the Spirit in our lives, even as we slumber.
Here’s His promise:
“For God speaks again and again, in dreams and visions of the night when sound sleep falls, as I lie in my bed. He opens my ears and gives me wisdom and instruction. (Job 33:14-16 NAB)
If your daytime prayer and meditation leaves you clueless, it might be time to pray for night vision, where the Lord does promise to speak.
“I will bless the Lord who counsels me; He gives me wisdom in the night, He tells me what to do.” (Psalm 16:7 NAB)
Our minds are quieted in the night, leaving our spirits more receptive to His voice.
So bless the Lord as you lay your head on your pillow, and thank Him for His counsel and wisdom.
You just might awaken with a new clear vision.
“… Write down the vision clearly upon the tablets, so that one can read it readily.” (Habakkuk 2:2 NAB)
Keep it before you; let your night vision be your daytime guide.
