Glorious Inheritance ...
This poor world is a snare and not worth a thought to those of us who await our glorious hereafter.
I feel like a bird standing between time and eternity, ready to fly away as this old house of mine is being taken down little by little. I have a house not made with hands that awaits me in the heavens.
Jesus is preparing a better place for us. There we will meet our Savior who suffered, bled, and died, so poor sinners like you and me should live forever.
Let us then live like one whose home is not here in this wilderness, but who is traveling day by day to a better and more glorious inheritance.
Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am. (John 14:1-3)
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. (2 Corinthians 5:1)
So dear friends, I urge you, as strangers and pilgrims in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. (1 Peter 2:11)
Live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear. (1 Peter 1:17)
