Our Heavenly Father …
Our Father in heaven, hallowed (holy) be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:9b-10)
Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil (sinners), know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him. (Luke 11:11-13)
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba (daddy), Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. (Romans 8:14-16)
Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits (most important) of all he created. (James 1:16-18)
Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is (face to face). (1 John 3:2)
