As a new school year begins, there is a growing concern over a radical ideology that is sweeping through our educational institutions.
The LGBT movement is actively implementing dangerous transgender policies in our schools that attack the biblical views on sexual morality and gender identity.
The question we actively work to answer at Family Research Council is: How do we respond as Christians to this radical liberal agenda?
Scripture, as Jesus affirmed in Matthew 19:4-5, clearly defines biological sex as male and female. "...Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female, and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'?"
As Christians, we are called to act with compassion toward those who suffer from gender dysphoria, which includes standing for the truth and against this harmful ideology that robs people of the abundant life Jesus came to provide.
At FRC, we are working to fight this transgender revolution that not only undermines our founding principles but also threatens the health and safety of children, families, and communities.
The American Journal of Public Health estimates only 0.39 percent of the population identifies as transgender. However, the rights of all Americans are now at risk because of the special privileges afforded to a small number of individuals struggling with gender confusion.
When Pennsylvania student Alexis Lightcap discovered a male student using a girls' bathroom at her high school, she was undeniably startled! Her school district had made an unannounced change to its bathroom policy for individuals who identify as transgender. Alexis and several other students are now suing the school for failing to protect their privacy and safety.
Minnesota's Anoka-Hennepin school district thought it was accommodating a biological female who joined the boys swim team at Coon Rapids High School. Instead of enforcing a liberal policy that would threaten the boys' privacy or force the student to use the female locker room, they built her a special facility. This biological female student has now sued the school claiming discrimination for providing her an individual locker room!
What this shows is that, no matter how accommodating a school district is regarding transgender policies, the truth is the radical Left has no interest in compromise.
The truth is, this transgender movement isn't just about gaining accommodation for a few; it is a revolution meant to tear down our nation's Judeo-Christian foundation.
If we don't stand firm, religious liberty along with all other freedoms will suffer.

In the House, 228 Democrats and 8 Republicans voted for the Equality Act (H.R. 5); a dangerous bill, which would make these destructive transgender policies a federal law, to be imposed in nearly every school in the country.
The House vote highlights just how many elected officials are willing to impose harmful legislation that threatens the safety of our kids.
The U.S. Senate and the Trump administration may be able to hold back these extreme gender policies for now, but that could all change with future elections.
With your help, our team is continuing its efforts to keep the Equality Act (H.R. 5) from coming up for a vote in the Senate.

As parents, grandparents, and church communities, we must speak out against a transgender agenda that is set directly against the biblical truth on gender and sexuality!
