It is understandable that some Christian leaders in California do not want to face the horrible truth.
I have compassion for them, because their situation is tenuous, to say the least.
Many pastors are in denial because the threat they now face in California is the stuff of science fiction.
Here’s the unvarnished truth: the current leftist regime in California sees no future for Christianity in the State.
They have made it their mission to drive true believers out of what they consider “their” State.
Sadly, the sermons being delivered by these pastors have given their congregations no warning of what they were about to face.
They learned the hard way that their child could be suspended for wearing a Christian t-shirt.
Their job in Silicon Valley could be lost if they witnessed on the job.
Textbooks that taught alternative sexual lifestyles were forced on their children. The streets grew violent, and the Universities became intolerant.
In short, these churches have prepared their crowds for a fantasy world that does not exist, but did nothing to change the one that exists now.
For years, the evidence of this has been there.
Gradually, churches began finding it hard to purchase property.
Then it was difficult for Christian clubs to remain on campus.
Christians were identified and then fired by Google, Facebook, YouTube and other tech giants.
Silicon Valley made it clear that people who held the Christian Faith were outsiders who would either get with the program or be filtered out.
Then came Assembly Bill 2943.
It essentially banned the Bible by saying that any book that promised deliverance from any LGBTQ life-style was a fraud and could be prosecuted as fraud.
At the last minute it was defeated.
Tragically, it was not defeated by the church, but by a much darker agenda.
They pulled it, even though they had the votes to enact it into law, because it was just a test.
Sure, there was outrage, but not nearly enough to stop AB 2943.
They wanted the public to adapt to the idea and to blunt as much of the backlash as possible.
They plan to reintroduce this bill soon.
AB 2943 was built on the LGBTQ youth protection bill (S.B. 1172) authored by then-State Sen. Ted Lieu, to prevent state-licensed therapists from practicing “psychological child abuse” on minors under the age of 18.
Then- Gov. Jerry Brown signed the bill in Sept. 2012, telling the San Francisco Chronicle:
“This bill bans non-scientific ‘therapies’ that have driven young people to depression and suicide.
These practices have no basis in science or medicine, and they will now be relegated to the dustbin of quackery.” Lieu’s bill became a national model. 18 states followed, with similar legislation.
Radical political activists and politicians across America watched Assembly Bill 2943 very closely.
This bill is a threshold law—a model for similar laws across America.
But now they have launched a whole new attack against the church.
They are blaming the Christians for high suicide rates among the LGBTQ community. You heard right.
Lawmakers in California have passed a resolution that singles out the State of California’s religious communities and forces them to fully support LGBTQ individuals.
In an astonishing bid to have people of faith conform to the agenda of the pervading progressive culture they are pushing, the legislators even blamed religious individuals for many of the issues faced by those in the LGBTQ community today – including suicide, the Federalist reports.
The resolution, which recently passed through the California State Assembly, reads:
“The Legislature calls upon all Californians to embrace the individual and social benefits of family and community acceptance” of LGBTQ people.
The document unapologetically pins blame on people of faith for being contributors to the sky-rocketing suicide rates among the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.
“The stigma associated with being LGBTQ often created by groups in society, including therapists and religious groups, has caused disproportionately high rates of suicide, attempted suicide, depression, rejection, and isolation amongst LGBTQ and questioning individuals…”,the bill reads.
So, with this unproven assertion put forward as fact, the California legislature is effectively seeking to force religious people to agree with and support the LGBTQ community, even if they hold strong personal convictions that would draw them away from doing so.
The message is clear: The Left sees no future for Christianity in California, except for a watered-down humanism they find acceptable, which is not Christianity at all.
The millions of believers in California and their pastors must wake up to the fact that the current regime ruling the State wants zero coexistence with the church.
Of course this is a shock. Yet, ignoring it would be a disaster.
California is well known for the lack of unity among Christian denominations.
However, if Christians in California cannot rise in unity to oppose the hatred against our faith that is streaming out of Sacramento, then the church will be driven underground.
We have no choice but to rise up as one voice!
I am holding out for a miracle.
That is why I have invested more into winning souls in California this year than any previous year.
I am expecting a miracle. Why?
Not because I have faith in man, but because I have faith in God and in the power of prayer. Millions are praying.
Dr. Harry Ironside said it best,
“It is unthinkable that when tens of thousands of GOD’s beloved people are crying from the depths of earnest hearts, “Revive thy work in the midst of the years,” that GOD does not intend to bring revival and blessing.”
Please join us in prayer, as we believe for an outpouring of the Spirit of God on California!
