GOOGLE CALLS BEN SHAPIRO, JORDAN PETERSON 'NAZIS'
Email revealed after exposure of plan to resist Trump in 2020
Following its release of a video showing a Google executive vowing to prevent Trump from winning reelection, Project Veritas is featuring a purported email from a Google employee referring to conservative figures such as Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson as Nazis.
Describing it as a leak within Google, Project Veritas said the email is from a member of the tech giant’s “transparency-and-ethics” team who was advocating the removal of Shapiro, Peterson, PragerU and others from the search engine’s “suggestion feature.”
“Today it is often 1 or 2 steps to nazis, if we understand that PragerU, Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro et al are nazis using the dog whistles you mention in step 1.
I can receive these recommendations regardless of the content of what I’m looking at, and I have recorded thousands of internet users sharing the same experience,” states the email.
“I don’t think correctly identifying far-right content is beyond our capabilities,” the employee wrote.
“But if it is, why not go with Meredith’s suggestion of disabling the suggestions feature?
This could be a significant step in terms of user trust.”
The Washington Examiner reported Shapiro, who is Jewish and critic
“Hey, @SusanWojcicki, would love to discuss this with you,” he wrote.
“Do you think your employees should be cavalierly labeling those who militantly hate white supremacy ‘Nazis,’
and then shaping algorithms on the basis of such lies?”
On Tuesday, WND reported, Google’s video platform YouTube removed the video posted by Project Veritas that captured a Google executive, Jen Gennai,
admitting the company’s intent to manipulate its algorithms to help prevent President Trump from being reelected.
In addition, the social news aggregation site that bills itself at the “front page of the Internet,”
Reddit, suspended Project Veritas from its platform in response to the video exposing election meddling.
Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, reacted Tuesday to the video, saying in a statement it
“shows Google’s biases are now a threat to a free and fair election,
all while they hide behind the immunity given by Congress years ago when they were supposed to be a simple ‘town square’ where everyone’s voice could be heard without biased results.”
Gohmert said Google should have its immunity under the Communications Decency Act “stripped” and “be properly pursued by class action lawsuits by those they have knowingly harmed.”
The Justice Department, meanwhile, is considering whether to open a case against Google for potential antitrust violations.
‘We all got screwed over in 2016’
The Google executive, Gennai, reacted to the video in a blog post.
She said the people she met
“lied about their true identities, filmed me without my consent,
selectively edited and spliced the video to distort my words and the actions of my employer, and published it widely online.”
Gennai insisted the claim that Google intends to influence the election “is absolute, unadulterated nonsense, of course.
She contended Google manipulates its algorithms and rankings to protect against “foreign interference.”
However, in the video, Gennai clearly states that Google has been working diligently to “prevent” a repeat of 2016.
“We all got screwed over in 2016; again it wasn’t just us, it was, the people got screwed over,
the news media got screwed over,
like, everybody got screwed over.
So we’re rapidly been like, what happened there and how do we prevent it from happening again,” she said.
“We’re also training our algorithms, like, if 2016 happened again, would we have, would the outcome be different?”
‘Algorithmic unfairness’
In addition, Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe spoke with a Google insider who released internal documents showing how the tech giant makes editorial decisions regarding its search results
One document centers on the concept of “algorithmic unfairness.”
It states “for example, imagine that a Google image query for CEOs shows predominantly men
… even if it were a factually accurate representation of the world, it would be algorithmic unfairness.”
In the Project Veritas video released Monday, the Google insider, whose identity is protected, explained how the company decides what is “fair”:
What I found at Google related to fairness was a machine learning algorithm called ML Fairness, ML standing for Machine Learning, and fairness meaning whatever it is they want to define as fair. You could actually think of fairness as unfair because it’s taking as input the clicks that people are making and then figuring out which signals are being generated from those clicks, and which signals it wants to amplify and then also dampen. So what they want to do is they want to act as gatekeepers between the user and the content that they’re trying to access. So they’re going to come in and they’re going to filter the content, and they’re going to say, “Actually we don’t want to give the user to that information because it’s going to create an outcome that’s undesirable to us.”
The Google insider then explained how the company applies the same standards to censor YouTube videos posted by conservatives:
So the way that Google is able to target people is that they take videos, and then they do a transliteration through using artificial intelligence. And they look at the translated text of what those people are saying and then they assign certain categories to them like right winger, or news talk, and then they’re able to take those, and apply their algorithmic re-biasing unfairness algorithms to them so that their content is suppressed across the platform. So they’re playing narrative control. And what they’re doing it is they’re applying their human, the human component, which is they’re going through – with an army people – and they are manually intervening, and removing your content from, from their servers, and they are saying that the algorithms did it. And in that case for the high profile people, it’s not just ML Fairness that you guys have to worry about, it’s actual people that have their head filled with this SJW mindset, they’re going through and removing the content because it – because they don’t agree with it.
O’Keefe asked the Google insider if he had any fear in speaking out:

But, I, I had a lot of difficulty with the concept of, you know, my life ending because of this, but I, I imagine what the other world would look like and it’s not a place I’d want to live in. Hopefully, I get away with it, and nothing bad happens, but bad things can happen. I mean, this is a behemoth, this is a Goliath, I am but a David trying to say that the emperor has no clothes. And, um, being a small little ant I can be crushed, and I am aware of that. But, this is something that is bigger than me, this is something that needs to be said to the American public.
