Exclusive: Joseph Farah asks if voters will follow leading Dems 'lurching further left'

Since President Donald Trump made border security, emphasizing walls, his signature policy for ending the crisis, the scandal, the national emergency called illegal immigration, the Democrats have made it crystal clear why they have abdicated responsibility for 40 years to do anything meaningful about the problem.

Never mind that they have funded walls in the past. 

Never mind that they have participated in the building of some of those walls. 

It is now obvious that they never intended to address border security in a serious way. 

It was all a sham.

How do we know? Because they have told us so – led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer and some of their leading presidential candidates and wannabes for 2020, including Beto O’Rourke.

O’Rourke, who has lived next to that wall for eight years now, says, for the first time, that he thinks it should be torn down.

It’s the Trump Effect.

They hate him. 

They fear him. 

If he embraces policies they have supported in the past, it’s a surefire recipe to cause them to run in the opposite direction.

Trump has smoked them out as open-borders proponents – something no Democrat, let alone any in leadership, would have ever admitted.

But here we are.

It’s a pivotal moment in the history of America, given the political divisions in which the nation finds itself.

With the largest party in the country being outed as opposing nothing short of national sovereignty, we can expect one of two things to happen in the next year:

1. The Democrats will lose majority support for such a radical position, one that is ultimately unsustainable for a free republic.
2. Americans will vote themselves into a national suicide pact.

Until recently, O’Rourke was an obscure former member of Congress from Texas’ 16th District and a former city councilman from El Paso from 2005 through 2011.

What’s notable about that six-year time frame? 

O’Rourke served on the council while the El Paso wall was being built next to one of the most violent cities in the world, Juarez, Mexico, a relatively small town in which some 2,000 or more people are murdered annually.

It’s also interesting that O’Rourke argues the border has never been safer with the wall in place – yet he wants to tear it down.

One thing you won’t find in any of the stories about Beto O’Rourke’s political history is where he stood on building the wall in the first place. 

No one in the press even asks.

Why didn’t he ever mention not wanting the wall to be built in El Paso during his years as a city councilman and a member of Congress? 

Why did he wait until 2019 to mention that he wants it to be torn down?

Because he is a reactionary. 

The question apparently never occurred to him until it was posed by President Trump.

“If Nancy Pelosi thinks that walls are ‘immoral,’ why isn’t she requesting that we take down all of the existing walls between the U.S. and Mexico, even the new ones just built in San Diego at their very strong urging?” 

Trump tweeted. “Let millions of unchecked ‘strangers’ just flow into the U.S.”

It was only following that suggestion by Trump and specific questions from reporters of O’Rourke that he came out not only against building any new border security walls but tearing the existing wall down in El Paso.

“Yes, absolutely. I’d take the wall down,” O’Rourke said.

He now even claims walls don’t prevent deaths at the border but cause them.

Nancy Pelosi, who supported billions in spending in previous border walls, now calls them “immoral.”

Now that Democrats have been smoked out on their true border positions, with some calling for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, will Americans lurch further left with them, or will their increasingly radical positions hurt them at the polls?

And, if the Democrats get their way, what will happen when the walls come tumbling down?
