One Path One Passion

“God will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion to do what pleases Him” (Phil 2:13 TPT).

Upon encountering Christ, Paul’s perspective drastically shifted. Immediately, the Apostle counted his pedigree as rubbish in comparison to Jesus’ true riches. 

He left behind a prestigious lifestyle and embraced a higher mandate. Supernatural empowerment came upon him as he forgot past mistakes and focused on pleasing God, running straight toward a heavenly goal. 

His motto: One Path, One Passion. Paul’s passion was clear. 

He became consumed with Jesus and did not cling to his own righteousness. 

More than that, he encouraged his followers to do the same, 

“And let us all advance together to reach this victory-prize, following one path with one passion.” (Phil 3:16 TPT). 

To be sure, we have not attained absolute victory or fullness. 

And perhaps, to our detriment, we rehearse bygone failures that drag us downward. 

And although a ‘New Year’ produces anxiety, it’s usually the ‘not knowing’ that proves harmful. 

Even so, we have an all-knowing Father who empowers us onward. 

Therefore, Paul urges us to stay the course, lay aside every heavy load, and place all our needs into the hands of our capable Father. 

In this sense, the Hebrews’ author summons us to welcome the upward call and run the race with fervor, 

‘Fixing our gaze upon the author and finisher of our faith (Heb 12:1a). 

Not in hopeless abandon but clinging tightly to our faithful, life-giving Creator.

With these truths in mind, let us look intently into a glorious future. 

With courage may we march toward a single path and a single passion. 

Keeping our eyes riveted upon the One who died for us. 

Gaining a forever home and final treasure “I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2b).
