My Train Set

Just like any other kid, I loved getting gifts on Christmas day. When I was seven, my dad who loved to build things had constructed a large table with painted grass, various roads, and a train set. It had a railroad crossing, station, different types of railroad cars and two different locomotives, as well as a caboose. My earthly dad worked hard on that gift for me, I loved it and accepted it gladly.

My heavenly father also gave me a gift for Christmas, over two thousand years ago. The gift was his son Jesus, who was born in a manger and would later in his life die for my sins, yet rise again. Saving me from my sins is the best gift possible, and I accepted it gladly. It is a lot better than a train set, or any material thing that I won’t be able to take with me when I die. I will live in a world that is free from sin, and I won't be evicted, foreclosed upon or fired. 

God knew we would make mistakes in this life, so that is why He provided Jesus for us so that we can spend eternity with Him. The present from my heavenly Father will last me forever.

This Christmas would be a wonderful time for you to accept that free gift as well. Simply ask Jesus into your heart, trusting Him as your Savior, and you will get the free gift of salvation, the forgiveness of your sins.
