City Leaders Want Chick-fil-A Banned from Race The Pittsburgh City Council and Pittsburgh Public Schools board have declared war on Chick-fil-A. City leaders are furious because the most popular fast food restaurant in the nation is a title sponsor at a children’s event during the Pittsburgh Marathon. Marathon organizers recently announced a three-year deal to sponsor the kid’s marathon. But city leaders accuse Chick-fil-A of promoting hateful beliefs against the LGBTQ community. Facebook Deletes Pro-Law Enforcement Page In recent days I’ve been inundated with stories from our readers about Facebook cracking down on conservative and faith-based pages and groups. Perhaps the most egregious example of Facebook censorship came from Kathy Hageman and her brother-in-law – a police sergeant in California. Kathy tells me Facebook shut down their private Facebook group for police officers. School Bans Christian Athletes From Meeting Students and teachers in Hardin County, Kentucky are fighting back against the local school district’s draconian rules governing the expression of religion, claiming that the policies in place violate the First Amendment and the Equal Access Act. Under the current rules, no religiously affiliated club may meet during school hours even though the district sets aside “club time” for clubs to meet during school hours on a monthly basis. Members of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes were directly affected by the policy, which First Liberty Institute says violates the Equal Access Act which bars discrimination on the basis of religion, and the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment which requires “neutrality toward religion, not hostility.” Continue reading at ToddStarnes.com. Professor Tells Students to Block Fox News Channel A North Carolina State University professor is under fire for providing students with a handout that told them to “block Fox News” from family members. “When they’re not looking, set the parental controls on the TVs of your family members to block Fox News,” the handout stated. “Fox News spreads bigotry and hatred.” Students for Trump chairman Ryan Fournier said Professor Michaela DeSoucey distributed the paper to students in a sociology class. The handout instructed students to follow a lengthy list of liberal commentators – from Dan Rather and Bill Kristol to Jemelle Hill, Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow. Continue reading at ToddStarnes.com.
