Hi Friend,
When I look around the room at my church on Sundays, I'm not usually thinking about how many people might be facing a pregnancy decision. But statistically, it much more prevalent than many would guess.
According to Care Net's research into abortion, nearly four out of ten women who have abortions were attending church at least once a month at the time of their first abortion. Often, this is because the woman does not feel like she has adequate support.
The fact that women are walking out of our churches on Sunday mornings and into abortion clinics on Monday should break our hearts.
In this week's CareCast, Roland C. Warren and Vincent DiCaro have a discussion about what the church needs to do to reach the women and men considering abortion in their pews.
Do you know about Care Net's Pregnancy Decisions Line?
Anyone can call the helpline and talk to a trained coach about a pregnancy decision they or someone they know is facing. Our coaches listen with open ears and ask careful questions. Many of the callers are struggling and some fear their unplanned or unwanted pregnancy is an insurmountable challenge.
Dr. Greg Austen, the Executive Director of Church Outreach and Engagement here at Care Net, wrote a great piece about some lessons of hope we can learn from the Pregnancy Decision Line:

May God enable us to better serve those we meet who are facing a difficult pregnancy decision.
Blessings on your weekend,
