Trey Gowdy Stood In Front Of The Camera And Shut Down Robert Mueller
The release of the FBI’s 400-plus page FISA application for a warrant to spy on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page rocked Washington.
Lawmakers scrambled to respond to the proof that the FBI had lied to obtain the warrant.
But Trey Gowdy responded to the bombshell by going in front of the cameras and shutting down Robert Mueller’s sham investigation.
Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Gowdy highlighted the fact that the FBI used unverified gossip paid for by the Clinton campaign to obtain a warrant to spy on Page.
The South Carolina congressman also pointed out that the FBI deceived the FISA court by concealing the source of funding for Steele’s dossier.
When the FBI applied for the FISA warrant, the Bureau did not disclose that the dossier was bought and paid for by the Clinton campaign and the Democrat National Committee.
Gowdy declared,
“The FBI missed a really good opportunity to tell the judge exactly who paid for that.”
“I don’t have an issue with looking into people that have cozy relationships with Russia,” Gowdy exclaimed. “I do have an issue when you rely on unvetted political opposition research.”
“My take is that Carter Page is more like Inspector Gadget than Jason Bourne or James Bond,” Gowdy concluded.
In the same interview, Gowdy declared he had seen no evidence of the Trump campaign coordinating with the Russian government, and that the only reason the left is now claiming President Trump obstructed justice by firing former FBI Director James Comey was because the collusion investigation is a dead-end.
“I have not seen one scintilla of evidence that this president colluded, conspired, confederated with Russia, and neither has anyone else, or you may rest assured Adam Schiff would have leaked it,” the South Carolina lawmaker stated.
“So that’s why they’ve moved off of collusion onto obstruction of justice, which is now their current preoccupation,” Gowdy concluded.
Gowdy’s interview blew up the Mueller investigation.
The FBI began investigating the Trump campaign for collusion with Russia in July 2016.
Mueller took over the probe in May 2017.
In the two years federal agents have investigated the Trump campaign for collusion with Russia, not a single American has been indicted for conspiring with the Russian government.
The media makes a big deal about the number of indictments Mueller has filed.
To date, the special counsel has initiated criminal proceedings against 32 individuals and secured five guilty pleas.
But none have been for collusion with Russia.
And as Trey Gowdy points out, this is despite the FBI lying to the FISA court.
The investigation – which was fatally flawed from the start – has yielded no charges for collusion in the 2016 election.
That’s because – as Gowdy stated – there is not one single shred of evidence of collusion with the Russians.
