Blumenthal (D-Conn.) suggested that virtually all life on Earth is threatened: 'The first point is to take it to the American people to show them what's at stake, to mobilize them and say to them your health care rights and protection against precondition abuses is at stake, clean air and water that you use and breathe is at stake, the future of your rights to reproduction decisions is at stake and also to our colleagues.'
MSNBC contributor Al Sharpton cryptically cautioned: 'All human and civil rights are at stake.'
Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) predicted presidential abuses of authority will become greater: 'What's at stake are [Americans'] constitutional rights, the protection against the abuses of power by the president, by Congress, by corporate America and reversing the long-standing precedents of the Supreme Court.'
Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) said the next SCOTUS justice will likely mean 'the destruction of the Constitution.'"

The irony of these outlandish assertions is that their hero, Barack Obama, was among our nation's chief offenders of presidential overreach. He also appointed activist Justices to use the High Court as a bully to enact social change that he couldn't get through the legislature. In their eyes, the Constitution must be adapted to support their ideology.

It is the right of the people, not judges, to amend the Constitution and the laws.
As Brett Kavanaugh declared in his nomination acceptance,
"My judicial philosophy is straightforward. A judge must be independent and must interpret the law, not make the law. A judge must interpret statutes as written. And a judge must interpret the Constitution as written, informed by history and tradition and precedent.
I believe that an independent judiciary is the crown jewel of our constitutional republic. If confirmed by the Senate, I will keep an open mind in every case, and I will always strive to preserve the Constitution of the United States and the American Rule of Law."

Many Senate Democrats are declaring war on Kavanugh, not based on his impeccable qualifications, but on his perceived threat to their far-Left ideologies.
Former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe tweeted: "The nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh will threaten the lives of millions of Americans for decades to come and will morph our Supreme Court into a political arm of the right-wing Republican Party."
Sen. Schumer vowed that he will oppose Kavanaugh's appointment "with everything I've got." Sen. Bernie Sanders tweeted, "We must do everything we can to stop this nomination."
